An account of my dreams, or what I remember of them at the very least. Some are mundane with a few unrealistic twists, some are just completely out there. This is in an attempt to analyze for potential meanings, as well as to increase the effectiveness of my dream recall.

I haven't updated my online dream journal in ages. I've been keeping a fairly consistent paper one, recalling at least a single dream on most nights.

This one, however, was rather interesting.

I wasn't quite myself; it was as if I was playing a character, a role. I was the son and sole heir to a rich and prestigious family. This seemed to be set in a time before electricity at the very least. However, there was a strange circumstance; for the inheritance of the family to be passed onto the heir and not entailed, it must be given to the daughter of the family (who never did exist). As a result, I, as the son, had to dress as a woman. I recall a very tidy blue dress with a white pinafore, and attempts to make my medium-length hair look more convincing.

In any case, this seemed to continue on for some time; cut ahead to a scene of chasing the father around a garden, passing by some decorative tiles in the garden which struck me with their beauty, and eventually, meeting someone. This is the part I remember best. A very, very tall and fairly broad man with unusual features. His face was deformed somehow, noticeably asymmetrical. He had a short but shaggy beard, glasses and possibly a lazy eye. I'm unsure if his features were distorted as a result of being an unclear dream character, but I have never seen anyone like him. I was rather drawn to him; in spite of his possibly frightening appearance, he was very kind and rather intelligent. Unfortunately, he was of a lower social standing. In spite of that, I disregarded societal norms and sought his interest, to be rewarded with it in turn.

It was quite interesting to me. It seems to play a lot on gender identity and overlooking outward appearances (or first impressions) of other people to see what lies inside. It was certainly memorable.
