For my very first night of keeping a dream journal I was pleasantly surprised at how much recall I had. Not only that, but having fallen asleep focusing on recalling and writing them down really worked, and I even had the wherewithal to write at 3am the first time I woke.

1. I was at my parents' house, as were a bunch of my extended family and even Auntie Mara was there (IRL Mara passed away 3 1/2 years ago and I hardly ever dream about her, which is actually one of the reasons I want to learn dream control, so I can spend time with her in my dreams). Logistics needed to be dealt with for this gathering, which required a trip out and I was taking care of that with Mara, who was driving the car. She was being very sassy and flippant and it hurt my feelings. I started crying as I said to her that I was being helpful and didn't deserve to be snapped at and she agreed with me, adamantly, and obviously felt bad for making me cry.

2. I am with others, not sure who or how many, at some place semi-industrial and there is a mini baby elephant that wants to cuddle and lick my face out of love.

3. I'm in the back seat of a giant, classic wood-paneled station wagon with a girlfriend of mine that I've known since we were teenagers, although we are grown, the age we are now, and her mom is up front driving. We are looking for someone's house. I am having difficulty speaking and I say "I don't know why, probably because I grew up in one, but there's something comforting about a neighborhood built in the 50's/60's." And then her mom stops the car and to our right is a huge house being remodeled and behind it and between it and the house to its right is an amazing view of Puget Sound/Lk Union/the ocean. Not entirely sure what the body of water was, but I could see a bluff of land way out in the distance beyond the water that clearly had the Space Needle on it.
