Fragment of Dreams
I was in a dark room with some barrels and chairs. I heard footsteps so I tried to hide. All of the sudden the Amnesia Monster breaks down a door and starts toward me. I screamed, and another one busted down the other door. They hissed, "We're coming to get you!" and I screamed louder. When I woke up, I was in my first block Government class. My teacher was shaking my shoulder and calling me a "coal bucket." I hope I wasn't actually screaming.
I went to bed early the other night. I was trying to do the technique where you lie still and trick your mind that you're asleep. I began to hear deep noises, like bass drums, and saw flashing lights on my eyelids. I got excited and my eyes began to open. I tried calming down, but it was like my breath was coming faster. It scared me a little, but I eventually saw Ronald Reagan telling me to "Tear down that wall!" It was OK, but then I woke up. Tried again, but failed. I nearly was in the dream. Almost....
I took a nap a few minutes ago, and accidentally made it to the "tired-but-not-asleep" state. The state where reality blends with dreams. I thought, "I wonder if I can induce a dream." I used the FILD method and instantly heard a loud noise screaming over and over. It was my name being yelled on a loop. I panicked and tried to run, but told my self not to, because I knew it was a dream. The noise stopped. I was standing in darkness. I thought of my bedroom and began building the room. The walls appeared, and then, for some reason I still do not know, I panicked again. My body froze, and I felt numb. My name was called again and I began to wake. I pleaded to myself to stay asleep, but it was too late. I woke up and couldn't move. It felt like my entire body was asleep. I moved my arm and numbing tingles shot up to my shoulder. I waited a minute and finally got up. Dad said he had been yelling for me to wake up for five minutes.
