I was getting ready for work. I grabbed my tool belt and went over to my cousin's house to meet him and we walked to the train. He went to university so he needed to get into the city as well. We left from Chestermere, and entered the city via the train. Before we got to the train, however, I had dropped my belt because I did not feel like working since it was a cold winter day. But I did accompany my cousin and we chatted along the train. When we arrived we said goodbye and I went to work. When I got there, it was an elaborate building that we were apparently renovating, and adding a ton of stuff to. So I arrived and I think I met CJ on the scene first. I mentioned how I "forgot" my belt at home, and would have to go back. Also that I was starving. He gave me a stick of gum and said it would take my mind off the hunger, and I popped it in my mouth despite the fact that I personally thought it would do the opposite. Then I met Jesse next, and he was re-building some statue of almost Buddhist design. He, of course, was annoyed that I had left my pouch at home and had to go get it. It hit me then that I would have to walk back because trains didn't go to Chestermere, they only came from there. So I was annoyed that I had made such a dumb decision, but then when I told my boss what happened, he let me take the company vehicle (a jeep of sorts which was almost like a hummer, but more like a jeep) but he also came along, as did my other cousin and co-worker Shaun. The drive was long, and we talked the whole way there. When I got there, I took the train back and ended up going to my mom's house. She was talking about Chakras and the stones Buddhists put on themselves to channel the energy for meditation and such. I told her I didn't need Chakras to meditate and left it at that.
I dreamt that my cousins had come back from a trip and my uncle bought me and my youngest brother a large carton of cigarettes. My brother lit his with a lighter while I commented that lighting it with a match was cooler, and did so with a carton of my matches. While my brother's remained lit and he finished his in due course, my cigarette was periodically going out, and I had pinched the middle of the stick so that drawing smoke from it was hard. A storm was also brewing in the sky, and I watched as the clouds came together. Then I sped up time and watched the clouds connect into a ceiling of gray. Then we were on an old street I used to live on (18th street) and Shaun was walking towards our house. For some reason, I knew he was only coming part of the way, and then he'd be going back, so I thought I should offer to drive him back. But he got to the last corner on our block and turned back for his home. I can't remember what happened next, I think I walked with him a ways, but I can't be sure.
I had a dream I was playing one of my favorite games called Fast Food tycoon, a game in which you run pizza shops. You can set up how it's decorated and where the tables are and etc. Anyhow, I was getting so good at getting customers that I began to include a movie area so that the customers could watch movies as well. I attracted celebrities and turned one of my restaurants into a kind of Hollywood hideaway for the super-famous.
1st Dream: I was at work and we were laying out trusses. The layout on one side of the building was wrong and I had to fix it. It took a long time but when I was done, the other workers were fixing the rest of the trusses because they were wrong too. My boss was embarrassed and got mad, and we tore down the roof because he couldn't deal with changing it, he'd rather start from scratch again. 2nd Dream: While laying out trusses, I turned into a werewolf and ran across the tops of the walls, watching as my hands grew into menacing claws.
(Vivid): In the city where I live in my dream world, there is a run-down area that I've often gone to in one or two of these recurring scenes of dreams. I usually stay away from the area or go through it at night and get attacked by strange creatures of people, but this time I went there deliberately because me and a friend (never saw him or her in the dream) needed something, so I mentioned "the old ruins across town". When we got there, the place was a wreck and we searched through it, only to find that the area had been used for some kind of dark ritualistic sacrificing where the bodies were then used to fit inside places in the walls and floors. Mostly just the skulls though, and I remember a spot where there were two skulls that faced me as I looked at them and they were both in the wall as if to be on their sides. The chins would face each other and the top of the skulls would be facing outward, to the left and right. But the jaws were gone and they could not be found. after searching I realized that they weren't meant to fit with the jaws, so we moved on. Then I noticed that the ground was covered in all manner of sea urchins and coral, and I stated that it was because the island (for we went seamlessly from being in the ruins of my dream city to an island with the same ruins in Fiji) often flooded from the rainstorms, and the ocean's high-tides brought it back to the sea. We walked on and my brothers and cousins were there too, and I mentioned that we had finally found Fiji, and I was happy, though the place was in ruin and skeletal remains were everywhere- Outside the ruins a lush jungle surrounded us as far as the island went. We climbed to high ground as it started to rain, and the island began to flood.
This Dream began at school and ended at my cousins house (A cousin I don't actually have in reality). Anyhow, my cousin borrowed 900 dollars from me at school and said she'd pay it back, but then she disappeared for a year or two and I had to track her down. When I finally caught up to her at her house (because she had moved) she was in rough shape. Depressed and getting overweight and had that emo-look. No one was home but her when I arrived and so I fenced around with asking her about the money, because I thought it would be a hard thing for her to live up to, knowing what state she was in now. Anyhow, I finally asked her about the money and she told me the cheque was in a drawer in her bedroom, so I went and got it and attached to it was a note addressed to me. It was about my writing and how she found it inspiring, especially the "Horse" poem and she said in the letter that she'd love to read more of them. So I went back downstairs and thanked her for the cheque. Then I fenced around asking her about the note, and decided to just set it 'on the table' so to speak, so I said "so you liked my Horse poems?" and she said "yeah" and then I forget what happened, but I think I went to the bank to cash the cheque, all the while worrying that it would bounce.
I left work for the day and decided to get some DQ on the way home. I took the drive through to be fast but wouldn't you know it, it took longer because they were so busy because it was lunch time. I must have been pre-occupied with something when they swiped my bank card because after I got my food I waited for them to swipe it and they finally after a few minutes told me they swiped it already. So I was annoyed and got in my car and drove off. As I drove I got lost and ended up in some part of town I didn't recognize. As I got even more frustrated, I decided to take what I thought might be a short cut which was a tunnel-like thing. But as I drove through it, I began to regret the decision because the floor was all slippery and my car was swerving slightly and the walls were narrow and covered with construction signage and blue chalk. So I finally decided to turn around and go back the way I came. As I did so, I noticed that the tunnel was a bit narrower coming back so I slowed down which made me swerve a bit more. As I tried to control the car, I ended up hitting the back of it ever so slightly on the wall. So I stopped to assess the damage. The back-right-hand top-side of the car had been scraped and I couldn't fathom how it was so bad when all that I could tell from inside was that it was slightly bumped. (Which should have given away the dream but it didn't for some reason.) So the paint had been scraped off and replaced with the blue chalk and I pondered the cost of fixing it, plus the fact that it had just been fixed by my grandpa and I wondered if he'd be willing to fix it again. I went round to the front of the car and saw the chocolate sundae on the ground (even though I had ordered a cherry one) and as I looked a truck came barrelling down the tunnel and I felt embarrassed. When I came back around the car it was on it's right side in a ditch and I was wondering how the day could get any worse. But when I went to the back and looked at the scrape I thought that perhaps it wasn't so bad. Then I woke up.
I dreamt that my mom sold my Marilyn Monroe picture when I was at work. When I got home she told me and was happy about it, like she did me a big favor or something. I was upset and asked her why she would do such a thing without consulting me first.
I dreamt I was driving my car along a steel guard rail and scraped the front end of the left side as my brother watched. He smiled nervously and nodded to confirm that I had indeed crashed the car.
The dream was quite long so I'm going to summarize. Basically in the dream I was a murderer. I killed two people in the dream. The first was at a gas station and was simply out of rage for whatever reason. The second was in some house but was more calculated. After the murders, I was at the gas station with my mom who needed gas. -For the whole dream, I was getting gas from the station but not paying for it, and I may have killed the first person because they were there to see that I had not paid for the gas. See, in the dream I was afraid that I would be caught for stealing the gas, and when the cops came around, I thought they were on my trail for stealing the gas. Which I'll get to later. - Anyhow, I was in the gas station with my mom who needed gas but couldn't afford a lot, So I paid for it myself because I could afford it because I was stealing it for myself. Then a taxi cab came by and I filled him up, but he didn't have a regular gas cap, his vehicle needed to be filled from the exhaust pipe. So later me, my mom, and my middle brother were at some kind of restaurant/store and as we were looking at the menus, a man came over and asked me if he could see my suit-jacket. I didn't want to be rude but it was weird so I tried to figure out why he wanted to see it. I said "ummm, you want to see MY jacket?" He's like "Yeah, can I see the jacket please?" I said" Woah" half laughing "THE jacket, what is it an ancient treasure or something?" "Just let me see it" he said. I was getting angry at this point "What's so important about my suit, what you wanna buy it or what?" I forget what he said after that. So I eventually gave him the jacket and as I brought it to him, he pulled out a file from his back pocket and as he did so, I noticed he was wearing a gun. I immediately thought he was the police, and figured the gas-stealing was what he was on to me about. He gave me the file and said something like: "You left a finger print on the tie" and then he showed me the file, and circled one of a bunch of felonies but I couldn't make it out, then he left and I was there to ponder the paper. I then went through the rest of the dream in anxiety that the cop was on to me about the gas, but in the back of my mind I felt it was actually about the murders. I went into panicked moods and eventually started trying to figure out what page the police were on in an effort to try and distract them from the truth, whatever that was. I don’t remember anything after that.
1st Dream (Vivid): I was witnessing three girls get off with various machines or devices. The dream ended abruptly and I woke up. 2nd Dream (Vivid): After falling back to sleep, the dream I had seemed to continue from where the first left off, at least, that's how it felt: When I turned around and saw the White House (at least, it was the capitol building, but in my dream I knew it as the White House) I stepped closer to see a patrol of soviet troops moving in on the building. On in particular was climbing a ladder with a sign which had three identical Radiation signs in a horizontal row on it. I'd guess the dimensions were 14 inches by 5 feet. He hung the sign over the front door and stepped away. The rest of the soviet troops lined up in the formation of a firing squad about 50 feet away from the building itself. Then the commander (Colonel by the way his uniform was) came over to where I was. He said we were to be nuked for our lack of co-operation. Then he rejoined the squad and they fired the nuke. Everything went black as it blasted and when the sight returned everything was covered in dust. Then the Colonel came over my way as he looked through the rubble (which is what he seemed to be doing, if there WAS rubble, which there wasn't. Just dust.) He said something about capitalism and how 'they' had not left, they had only been waiting for 'us' to change. I remember feeling outraged as capitalism was under attack (apparently I was a supporter of capitalism in the dream, even though I'm not in real life?). Then they placed an identical Radiation sign on the ground and marked it with some sort of symbol under each of the radiation emblems. Then it ended. 3rd Dream (Vivid/Lucid): I was at home (my real home) and was in the kitchen after just coming up stairs. My Mom and two brothers were there although my youngest brother was perhaps in the study on the computer. The whole scene was so real and normal, AND everything looked real that I didn't suspect a thing until, for whatever reason, I did. I said "Wait a minute... is this a dream?" My mom turned around and laughed slightly "No... " My brother asked me why or something and I was more and more adamant: "No but this HAS to be a dream... let me check my clock..." "Ok." my Mom laughed. But as I looked at the clock I noticed it was staying the same after 2 times looking. then, when I checked the third time, it was the same time but now the numbers were in military time (like a 24 hour clock) I thought "that can't be real" and looked again, sure enough the time changed. So I immediately ended up somewhere else once realizing it was a dream, and as it started to fade, I rubbed my hands together to keep it real and everything became so clear and realistic. I felt along my arms to increase my mind's involvement in the dream and everything seemed to be stable. So I don't remember much about the dream but it was long. I remember the next location I was at was some kind of penthouse suite on a dock with it's own boat, and a water-plane had just landed with some associates of mine who came into the house. But they were randomly generated DC's so I decided to try summoning and I did it by saying "no, you're supposed to be..." and then looking away and looking back and they always were whoever I wanted them to be. Except once when it didn't work, and then I just tried again by re-phrasing it and it worked. I remember we went on some kind of mission and had some kind of business to work on but it all happened progressively like a linear time-line of thought-processes when it came to what we had to do. Like a checklist. And then we ended up in some tunnel underground. 4th dream (Vivid/May Have Continued From Above-Mentioned LD): Me and my cousin were in a store looking at big-screen TVs and we found one that had a really good warranty. It was a 58 inch plasma (the same one I have in real life). Anyhow I bought the TV because it's warranty covered everything, including damage cause by the owner. So we watched the tv for a while, then I picked it up and slammed it down, breaking the bottom-left corner which broke the frame out of place but did not break the screen. Afterward I was extremely worried that the warranty wouldn't cover it, even though it did (somehow i just thought it would be changed or there would be an exception made or something). Then I woke up and realized my tv was still safe and sound.
1st Dream: I was looking outside at the foggy misty rain that blanketed everything. It was so dark, and the mist was so fine yet it was coming down like rain. In the distance there was lightning bolts constantly flashing. I thought that I wouldn't be working in such conditions and went to my cousin's house (who I also work with) to see if he agreed. When I got there, he was gettin g ready to go and I said that it was too dangerous. He mentioned something about the 'bolt pings' and that they'd be set up IF it got too dangerous. I argued that it already was. He seemed to think that I just wanted to stay home in-line with my lazy nature but I DID think it was dangerous. I thought "I mean, all the air is saturated with humidity and there are massive lightning bolts going through it." After I woke up I pondered the dream. 2nd Dream: I was at my house (which wasn't my house at all, but it was some in-fill two-storey, but in the DREAM it was my house) and was going to be baby-sitting my little cousin who is 10. Her parents came with her to tell me the particulars etc. and they brought some movies. They asked me when I was planning to watch my movies (as I often do) and I said about 7. So it was decided that my cousin's bedtime would be 7. So they convinced me to watch some movies with my cousin before she went to bed and let me pick out of the ones that they had rented. There were two Tim Allen movies (aside from the Toy Story trilogy which they also brough) but I don't remember what they were, and two Tom Hanks movies, I think. I was thinking how I hadn't seen a particular Tim Allen movie in a long time, when they brought out the Indiana Jones Trilogy. So I decided on that. They commented that I "just like anything with Harrison Ford in it" which is often true, I thought, but not always. So I told my cousin to pick which one she wanted to see, not including the Temple of Doom, and I revealed that I had them on Blu-ray so we'd watch them like that, to the surprise of everyone. Then my mom revealed that she and my brother were going to play a game based on Toy Story 3 and for some reason I wanted to play it, but 'knew' that I couldn't unless I had seen toy story 3 already, which I wasn't too keen on doing. When I woke up I decided to see if I could get any deals on Indiana Jones Blu-Rays.
I can't remember much of anything dream-wise but I do recall I was watching stargate universe (even though I never watch that show because I watched it once and didn't like it) and there was Richard Dean Anderson as Jack Oneill. Anyhow, as the show progressed, it turned out that The guy was actually a different character, played by a different actor who just looked like RDA, and who was acting like Jack Oneill, in an effort, I assumed, to fill in the blank space that RDA supposedly created when he left the original stargate. The fake RDA took off his mask that made hjim look like RDA and looked like a yoinger RDA underneath. Then I woke up and wasn't able to try LD because I was too restless for some reason.
Had a dream I was watching The Expendables. There were some action scenes I don't fully recall and Arnold Schwarzenegger was in the movie more than a cameo. I remember thinking "Well this is more like co-starring rather than a cameo". There was also this Australian guy with frilly hair in the movie and I remember thinking he was the main bad guy from "The Condemned". Unfortunately I wasn't able to lucid dream, when my alarm went off for the CANWILD I had to go to the bathroom. I got back to my bed and remained aware and my entire body went numb but it wasn't SP. I almost entered it at one point and I may have because my alarm went off at 5:30 and when I decided to stop trying for a WILD I looked at my clock and it was almost 7, so I got up and got straight on here.
7 is the magic number. Scientists are telling us now that, due to research backed results, anything more or less than 7 hours of sleep is relatively bad for you. Let us assume that an average person follows this religiously, and then let us assume that he lives to be a ripe age-of-majority (I think) 75 years old. That means that this average person spends about 191, 625 hours sleeping (not counting Leap-years). Not doing anything, and MAYBE he'll get a good dream out of it if he's lucky. But most people can't remember many of their dreams, and when they do, it feels so aloof that it doesn't seem like they've experienced it. For me, that has always been unsettling until I discovered a place called Dream Views five years ago. Through constant research I began my quest to understand the power of lucid dreaming and how to manipulate my dreams. However, my attempts were mostly made up of WILDs during the night before I was going to sleep, which ended in failure every time. Suffice to say I got less and less motivated because, as you'd probably be the first to tell me, I wasn't motivated in the first place. Well this all changed once I saw the movie "Inception", and found out that Christopher Nolan (the director) has been lucid dreaming since he was 7 years old. Anyhow, maybe you already knew all this, but the main point of this blog is this: I've been researching lucid dreaming for almost 5 years; it has always fascinated me since reading about it, and due to the huge amount of tutorials here on Dream Views, I've learned quite a bit. But I've never been able to pull it off until a few weeks ago thanks to the CANWILD technique by CrazyInsane. So, below are the dreams I had, and on which days. I now understand that not only is Lucid Dreaming possible, but that the dream world is as real as ours in every way, and that the connection you can build to the events in your dreams feel as if they are true experiences that you yourself have gone through; and they remain in your mind as memories of your life- best of all, you feel as if you've done something with those 7 or however many hours you've slept, rather than that you've just slept through part of your life. Tuesday Night (August 3rd): Ok, so the first one I attempted as soon as I read a tutorial. I downloaded the sound and alarm clock, set it, and went to bed. Unfortunately, I was SO excited, that I couldn't get to sleep for the longest time. I'd finally fall asleep then have a long, vivid dream (non-lucid) and then wake up. Get a drink, go back to bed, unable to sleep, then finally get to sleep, and have another vivid non-lucid dream, wake up etc, for about three of these cycles. However, in the final one, I was having a dream and decided to look at my clock as I've trained myself to do, and lo and behold, it wasn't consistent (for digital clocks in dreams never are)! So I thought "Aha! This is a dream!" so I immediately started rubbing my hands together and examining them and things got ultra-real. So I decided to examine the mechanics of my dreaming mind, how things behaved, etc. I remember feeling completely aware, I remember checking the mirror to see what I looked like and I looked the same and was kinda disappointed but the image was slanted, also I'm 80% sure that I created things to see how that worked, basically this was a training exercise for me, and that's how I worked it. When things started to get blurry or dark, I'd rub my hands together again and continue exploring. I'd say I was in the dream for a perceivable hour. When I awoke, the next day I had such a sensation of accomplishment, as though I'd actually done something with the time that I'd otherwise be wasting in sleep, and I pondered what I would do next. So, for the first lucid dream I was not able to use the clock, but I became lucid because of how anticipant I was. Anyhow, the next day at work I checked the clock constantly, did more reality checks, and thought of what I'd like to do next. Anyhow, I decided I'd like to learn summoning next, and so I picked Tricia Helfer as my subject. I theorized that if I was to summon her, as per this site's guidelines, it would need to be believable, so I theorized that using my phone (which is my "totem" if you will as I also use it to check the time to make sure it's consistent) to have her on speed dial would do it, that or going to a building that seemed like the kind she might be at. Besides, I also read here on Dream Views that having a Dream Character help you in whatever task you are trying in the dream world, stabilizes the dream So, I got home, read up on more techniques especially in controlling a dream, decided the passive way was best, and went to sleep. Wednesday Night (August 4th): Well, AGAIN I was too excited to sleep and had much difficulty, but since I remained awake, I entered SP (Sleep Paralysis) at one point, tried to sit up in it, but ended up waking myself up and recalling that someone had posted and said it's better not to because you risk waking up (Better to just enter the dream). 'However that is supposed to be done.' I thought. Anyhow, later, the alarm went off! And I heard it but faintly, and so I thought "this is it!" I was already in SP and was waiting, trying to remember what to do, when my body felt like the top half of it was being lifted. But not my physical body, more like a floating body, if you know what I mean. Anyhow, I thought I'd just let it happen, so I did, I got lifted up till my top-half was 90 degrees with the bed, then I shot up out of the room and entered the dream (which was my room lol) but I was standing in it. Anyhow, I remembered how the day before I had been talking to my cousin about doors and if you could make some other destination appear when you open the door, to go to that is. So anyhow, I opened the door and it was just like the norm in my house and I got frustrated and slammed the door. Can't remember what happened next but eventually I got into a fancy restaurant and thought "this is where I'll find Tricia Helfer" and when approached by the hostess I said "Yes for two, but she may be here already" so I went into the dining room but found that she wasn't there. I thought this odd because I thought I was being quite cunning in my manipulations but I waited for a while and she still never showed up. So I thought "why don't I call her?" so I checked my phone, and sure enough she was on my speed dial, I called her and she said she wouldn't be able to make it. At that point I thought "I thought I was controlling this dream? Guess I'm not.". But she said she'd meet me "somewhere" so anyhow, I ended up walking down the street when suddenly, from the sky, came a rocket ship, crashing into the ground like the canisters of weapons on Halo 3. The policeman opened it and freaked out. When I got there, I saw it was Tricia Helfer inside and I explained to the officer (to his confusion) that I knew her and it was fine. So we left, I asked her what took her so long, I forget what she said, but I pondered why she had come out of the sky rather than just be "around the corner" so to speak (which is supposedly one of the best ways to summon things in a dream. just know that it's around the corner or, like I tried, in the restaurant). Anyhow, we both navigated through the dream and there were some people after her for some reason but mostly I tried to get a handle on creating things. Again, I felt completely aware in this dream but found it odd that I was jumping from one location to the next. But that's it. I tried the next night again but to no avail as I was so exhausted having not eaten for hours because I had to go look at a house straight from work. To date however I have had no lucid dreams and am getting frusterated because it was all so easy, but not so much anymore. Anyhow, I will continue to look to you here on Dream Views for more inspiration and support, and I'd like to say thanks for my progress so far.
