    1. Smelling The Shaved Wrist of Dead Celebrities?

      by , 05-25-2012 at 09:00 PM
Had the nuttiest dreams last night. 2 Fragments and 2 full dreams:

      Fragments:
      1. Gypsies (I watched an American Gypsy marathon so that explains why my first dream was about them).
      2. A girl in a car (think this has to do with helping my mom purchase a new car).

      Full Dream:
      1. I was some kind of assistant to a woman of wealth in Paris. There were lots of shops and ornate buildings around. I had to take my bosses dog to the vet but it (the dog) was cold and wanted its mommy.

Another assistant convinced me to tell everyone our bosses were in meetings so we could enjoy an extended lunch break.

      2. Some guy was really sick...possibly dying. He wanted to smell the clean shaven wrist of Whitney Houston before he died or passed out. I didn't see WH but there was a detached silky smooth scented wrist for him to inhale at the end of the dream.

    2. 05.24.12 - Tried SSILD

      by , 05-24-2012 at 01:59 PM
I tried SSILD for the 2nd night in a row. Though I have yet to experience lucidity my dreams have taken on a new quality. They're more vivid and full. Extremely realistic. I had two full dreams and a couple of fragments I can't recall:

      1. Dream #1 - I was having a conversation with Mitt Romney's mom (though he looked like George Bush). She was really old with white hair. We talked about her long marriage to her husband. How he was sick and can't get around the way he used to. And she spoke about her Mormon faith. Nice lady. Though I'm not sure why I'd dream about her.

      2. Dream #2 - My family and I were in the dining room preparing for supper. Everything and everyone looked exactly as they do IRL except my husband. My dream husband was quite large (like a linebacker) and unsmiling. As I pushed myself from the dinner table I notice my huge pregnant tummy! Somehow I knew I was carrying a boy. My hubby and I were happy about the baby but not with each other. There was polite tension that made me feel uneasy around him.

The thing that got me about dream #2 is how real it seemed! I can't stress that enough. It totally felt like it was happening. The action was so mundane and familiar. By the time strange things began to register the dream was over! Unfortunately my son woke me up before the dream naturally ended.

    3. 05.22.12

      by , 05-22-2012 at 08:19 PM
Another dream filled night! I had several fragments and 2 full dreams. No lucids:

      Fragments:
      1. Reliving the fantastic sweet and sour chicken I made for dinner. It must've popped into my dreams half a dozen times last night.
      2. Having a conversation with an alien. I'm pretty sure it was just my mind reliving a chapter I read in Robert Monroe's Far Journey before bed.
      3. Mark Zuckerberg saying, "That's not how business is done."

      Full Dreams:
      1. We were on vacation with another family. It was a dirty little beach town with weather worn buildings and an overcast sky. We had trouble trying to locate our hotel.

      2. Maybe it was the same dream....I dunno...but we were in a house with the same layout as the one we live in. Only this one was old, weathered and didn't feel familiar. The double doors leading to the deck blew open. Neither my husband nor I could lock it again. I was unhappy about sleeping in a strange place like that and worried about my kids.

No lucids. But I sure had a lot dreams! Five dreams/fragments in total. Which is probably a record for me. There seemed to be a cluster of them in the hour before waking up.

As usual I was woken up separately by my dog and both kids. Which was fine as I'd planned to just sleep and not worry about LD's or AP's. However I had my dream #1 early on (around midnight) about reality star I'm not fond of.

After waking up the first time I fell into dream #2 about a mother getting shot at a graduation ceremony and the ensuing panic among students and faculty. There was a brief discussion about the culprit. And I actually saw a DC's mouth move. - I woke up at the end. But was so bothered by the shooting I imagined a different scenario and ended up in dream #3.

Dream #3 took place in the same auditorium only this time it was full of younger kids. School was letting out and I had equipment to take to my car. It was raining and I had to walk down a slippery hill to get to my car. Kids were playing football with sanitation workers on the hill. Since my trunk was wet I carefully broke my equipment down and placed it in the back seat.

Dream #4 was a fragment about working out. I looked awesome!

Dream #5 was about a woman on Long Island letting her teenage son have an overnight visit with his girlfriend at an Island Resort on "Pia" Island. I looked at her like she had two heads (LOL)!

The last 3 dreams occurred in the last hour of sleep....like a dream chain. Seemed as if each of them lasted a long time. But they had to be just a few minutes long. Not sure why I couldn't remain lucid when the dreams kicked in. One minute I was imagining something and the next I was dreaming. I don't recall any transitions at all!

I was a good girl last night. Placed my notebook and pen beside my bed before lights out. Just having it nearby helps. I remembered three dreams this morning! The first would've been completely lost to me had I not scribbled a keyword down:

      1. Dreamt about curlformers. Which makes sense as I was researching them earlier in the day.

      2. Another military dream....which I failed to recognize as a dream sign and become lucid! My hubby and I were shocked to learn I had one more year of service.

      3. We were living in the home of close family friends when their basement flooded. Somehow we ended up in their bedroom which was located down their.

      Recalled 3 dreams this morning:

      1. Seemed to be watching a man care for his triplets. Didn't interact with anyone.

      2. Watched Beyonce in concert.

      3. Military dream (huge dream sign for me). I was in a huge mixed sex barracks the size of an airplane hangar. Everyone was preparing for an event.

Somehow the dream changed into a police action. My partner and I were nervous about presenting the commander with data. We were the only women there. And the men were less than welcoming but not rude.

I was too lazy to write down the first dream I recalled from last night.

The 2nd one entailed a conversation about relationships with a guy named Whip or Willow Whip. something like that.

      Two Dream Fragments:

      1. Visiting my friend Crystal at her childhood home. She was worried about something and I was helping her.
      2. Teaching kids to cook.

Managed to slip into deep relaxation after the alarm sounded this morning. But really need more time to complete a WILD.

      Had two dreams this morning:

      1. My brother was getting married again. But he was scared shitless. His best friend and I were giving him a pep talk. Never figured out why he was afraid.

      2. I was running around the apartment trying to clear up an issue with references for a new job I really wanted. The reference was the last hurdle before the job would be offered to me. But I was afraid the guy would hear something bad and I'd lose the job.

Note: good thing I wrote a sentences about each dream when I woke up. Otherwise they'd be completely forgotten by now. I had to refer to those notes to complete my DJ today.

I think WILD is the induction method for me. Last week I just beat my head on the wall trying to DILD. It seems more natural to slip into the dream from wakefulness than trying to gain lucidity within the dream.

Had a few dreams last night. But I was too lazy to write them down. However I remember the last one I had:

      - My paternal grandmother was badly injured in a house fire. I was angry with someone about it and worried she would die.
      - Someone (an authority figure of some sort) was trying to coerce me to do something. Eventually I gave in to please them. But either I woke up or another dream began because I never followed though with it.

I think these dreams correlate with issues I'm having in RL. My subconscious was attempting to work through interpersonal problems I've yet to resolve.

    11. 5.11.12 Dream

      by , 05-11-2012 at 08:36 AM
I had the most annoying silly ass dream ever this morning.

There was a town hall meeting going on about race. Lot's of people were there. Mostly black folk and white folk. People were divided but cordial. A well respected black journalist stands up to speak. I'm excited to hear what he has to say. But the good feeling quickly evaporates when he makes an ignorant comment about black people. It was truly stupid. Some people in the crowd smile and nod their heads in agreement. While others are angry and embarrassed. Then out of the back room reality star Nene Leakes stalks up to the journalist (with her stylist in tow) and let's him have it. I can't hear what she says. But her finger wagging and facial expressions say she's giving it to me good. In the middle of this public reprimand the journalist turns into Star Jones.

      Silly!

Nevertheless, I think the dreams I have about well known figures aren't really about them but their characteristics or what they represent (to me). If I take the focus off of them in this dream it boils down to this: A public figure embarasses his/her community and sparks feelings of outrage from them.

Though I recognized the journalist I believe he simply represented someone respectable.
Nene and Star Jones represented anger and confrontation.
      The crowd symbolizes the public.
The fact that everyone was black or white could represent polarization or stark differences among the populace.

This dream isn't surprising as it's an election year in the US. Or as I like to call it, "the silly season."

Not much to report. My daughter slept with me so I got very little sleep. I only remember fragments of dreams (mostly political) and making square pies. I tried to focus on how my body feels when it's falling asleep. Maybe try to experience SP. But all I felt were god vibrations in my limbs. It was nice. Would've been nicer if I didn't move everytime it happened.

The head buzzing stops when I'm relaxed/sleeping. But comes back upon awakening or thinking about it. I was able to move the energy from left to right and front to back of my head. But I didn't like how it felt at the top. It feels like my crown chakra is open when I focus the energy on my crown. That isn't the norm for me. Maybe I'll do a chakra balancing meditation or quick reiki session to see if that has an effect.

Drank apple juice before bed to see if my dreams were more vivid. The jury is out on that one. But I did recall more than usual. That's cool!

      Dream fragment 1:
An old friend of mine were trying to escape his crazy baby-mama. We were driving through our old neighborhood where we grew up.

      Dream fragment 2:
A Middle Eastern looking guy laughing and eating jelly beans. Just the orange and brown ones. You could see them all mixed up in his mouth when he laughed. Which was funny and annoying at once.

      Full Dream 1:
Crowded event outside a convention center. My (deceased) cousin and step dad were there along with other family members. It was super crowded and we wondered how we'd get inside before the show started. As we walked around the building checking out the entrances Dennis found an unlocked side door and ushered my mom and others inside. My cousin and I decided not to sneak in that way and went through main entrance. Inside we stopped at the concession stand to get a snack. I told the guy behind the counter he looked like some celebrity. He was cute! We flirted a little and the dream ended.

      Full Dream 2:
I was in the common area of a multifamily home. Spanish speaking men were performing work inside and teaching me something and quizzing me. Women were preparing something in the background. Basically we were laughing, talking and going about the days tasks. Though I felt more like awelcomed visitor and student than part of the household.

I never gained lucidity in any of the dreams.

Lots of dream fragments and one full dream recalled:

The fragmented dreams were imagery from a conversation I had with a friend earlier in the day. My mind played back bits and pieces throughout the night. Which makes sense as it was the last real conversation I had before bed.

Some time after 3am I dreamt of a beautiful, lush, green valley with blue lakes and perfect houses / communities. Some of the citizens were being interviewed about the effects of greed on the environment. Wealthier people were using up the resources while the less wealthy suffered.

Three old white guys were talking about the good ol' days before the nonsense started.

Then there was an elderly lady pacing in front of her home. She was distraught, drinking and a little confused. She was losing her house. And the authorities came to get her. She had an adult son inside who was out of work.

Interestingly enough...everyone seemed wealthy. Large homes and idyllic setting but they were troubled.

I know this happened in "dream" Montana because the old guys kept saying so.

5/5 - There was a man walking up concrete stairs to the subway platform above. I was behind him when a quiet commotion broke out on the platform. A veteran (looked Ethiopian/Eritrean) was being arrested by a some kind of swat team. As he was being hustled away the man in front of me turned and said, "What do you expect. Wasn't no outside/inside internet."

That makes no sense. But in the dream I understood it to mean something like.....
"The Internet was an inside job" - which only makes slightly more sense. But not much. Somehow the guy did something to the entire Internet.
