Late For School

17/06/10 - First of all I must point out, I finished school in 2005. I dreamt I was on my way to school. I got on the bus and paid the driver, but he didn't print me out a ticket, he just gave me one from on top of the machine. (Bus drivers normally do that when they're pocketing the cash). I looked at him suspiciously and then went and sat down. The driver kept looking at me through his mirror, so when I was getting off the bus I asked if everything was ok. He said he'd run out of change, so I looked if I had any to swap with him. I had three 50p coins, which he gave me a £2 coin for. I was honest and said that wouldn't be right. He didn't have any £1, 50p or 20p coins, so I said he could give the correct change in 10p and 5p coins if it helped. He seemed really nervous. He kept giving me the wrong change, like he couldn't add up. He then blurted out 'The machines broke by the way.' It was like he thought I was an undercover spy, out to catch bus drivers who don't issue tickets like they're meant to.
When I got off the bus I looked at my watch, it said half-past 7. I thought 'that can't be right, where has the day gone?' So I checked what time it said on my phone. Sure enough, it said 7:30pm. I carried on walking towards the school. It was still light, but it was summer so it wouldn't go dark till about 9:30pm. As I walked past the school gates, I could see the odd student here and there, so I decided to go in anyway. I walked to my form room, and on the way a teacher stopped me, asking where I'd been. I told them my watch was wrong but they didn't believe me. She kept on at me, so I decided to go to the toilets to get away.
As I walked in, I saw a row of about 20 cubicles on each side of the room. Loads of them had 'Out of Order' signs on the door. There was a musky smell, damp... like most public toilets, and the place wasn't well lit. I went along the rows, opening the doors which would open as I went, trying to locate the cleanest looking cubical. The one right on the end seemed ok. So I went in it, locked the door and leaned against it for a while, trying to work out why my watch and phone showed the wrong time. A minute or 2 later, I heard a toilet flush in another cubical. Then water started rising up, out of the one I was in, so i ran out of there as fast as I could, telling the teacher that was still stood there. She just told me to hurry up and get to class.
In my form room, there were about 6 other people, all sat around, chatting because the teacher hadn't arrived yet. I kept looking at my watch, which was still ticking, yet the time was still 7:30... I remember thinking to myself I had an appointment at the school office at 2:30 and that I mustn't miss it. When the teacher arrived, she looked at me and told me I was banned from the class so must remain quiet and then never come back after today. I didn't understand why I was banned, just for being late, yet I wasn't late because I got there before the teacher.
I looked at the class room clock, it said 2:45pm. I suddenly realised I was late for my appointment so I asked the teacher if I could leave. She let me, so I rushed downstairs to towards the office. but as I reached the bottom of the steps, I could see the teacher who I had an appointment with stood in the corridoor. So I went up to her and told her I didn't mean to be late and that my watch was wrong. She totally blanked me so I decided to head outside because I remember my teacher telling me to never come back to class.
The next thing I know, I'm on the roof of one of the science labs, hiding, right on the corner of the building. I didn't want anyone to find me, but the kids who could see me from other class rooms kept waving at me so that gave away my position. All the teachers start screaming at me to come down, while all the other kids were cheering me on. It was really hard to hold onto the edge of the roof, so I kept thinking to myself I was going to fall any minute. Yet I kept refusing to come down when the teachers asked.
I remember wanting to spit my chewing gum out, but I was worried it would land on someone down below. I found a place no one was standing and aimed for that. But no matter how many times I spat out the gum, it felt as though it was still in my mouth, I just couldn't get rid of it.
