    Twisty's Gallery of Dreams

The name's Twisty. You might know me from around DV (probably not, since I'm still such a n00b). What you see here is a log of what happens inside my subconscious. Not much of it makes sense, but I find it to be enthralling. I've just had my first lucid, and am pumped to have some more sometime soon! So far, I've had everything from battles with giant robots to crashing a wedding with the people from Victorious, and everything in between.

As for a little bit about how I came to learn about lucid dreaming, I actually began to write down my dreams on my own. I eventually remembered something I had seen on television many years ago on a dream control camp in Hawaii. I was bummed because the chances of me going to Hawaii anytime soon were non-existent. Then it hit me. Everything is on the Internet. Everything. After a Google search, I was just a click away from Dream Views.

I mainly write down my dreams on pen and paper, but I'm working on converting them to the online format; more old ones should be coming in often.

I'll be using a level system to keep track of my lucid dreaming process. The higher my level, the more advanced the tasks get. I just had my first lucid, so that means I'm officially Level 2!

    Dream Goals:

    Lvl. 1
    [x] Have a lucid Dream
[x] Write in my DJ at least once a day for a week

    Lvl. 2
[x] Keep lucid for fifteen minutes of longer
[ ] Talk to a DC during a lucid dream about anything
[ ] Have at least 3 lucid dreams

    Current Dream Signs:
    - Cross-country runs, people from my team, etc.
    - iPads: I use an iPad for school, so I'm around one pretty often
    - Mermaids: I have no clue on this one whatsoever
    - Video games: often my dream will be in the form of a video game screen
    - Jaggers: The lawyer from Dickens's Great Expectations often shows up, but as some sort of evil magician instead

Also, for each dream I log, I'll classify it, rate it, and give a little analysis to what I think it might be about. Feel free to comment on something you might think it represents; I love feedback!

All in all, welcome to my dream journal!

    1. The Bridge in the Mist

      October 31, 2011

This dream is a fragment in which I almost became lucid. I was so close that it wasn't even funny! The bridge in my dream is one that has been in many before, but I didn't realize it until now.

I was standing on this bridge/park thing over a river. It was a cool day, and it was slightly raining out, just a trickle. The bridge was made out of stone, and had a few different levels (I'll post a picture soon).

A biker whizzed by me, and I got annoyed. "Hello?" I shouted at him. "I'm trying to induce a lucid dream here!" Frustrated, I stormed away and started exploring the different rocks around the bridge. There were some other parts, that I'm sure of, but I can't remember them. My memory is too hazy.

    2. Operation: Deactivation

      October 27, 2011

I attempted a WBTB and WILD last night, but I had no luck. My dream was really vivid and I was a bit lucid, although I didn't do anything to control my dream.

I was on my high school's football field with someoene who was supposed to be my professor and a boy I'll refer to as Clive. Clive had been heavily bullied all throughout his life, and I was his only friend. Clive and I were part of an advanced robotics program at my school (which we don't have ), run by the professor, and we had just completed a prototype of some sort of robot. It wasn't a big deal or anything, but the school seemed to think so. They were all cheering like crazy in the stands, and it felt really good.

When we went to demostrate our robot, Clive hooked it up to his IPad, which held the program we were to run. But when he did, the small contraption began to grow and expand and become gigantic. (I'll post a drawing of it later.) Clive stepped into a compartment in the robot, and began to take control of it. "This is for all those years!" he screamed, and began plunging the robot's arms into the crowd and killing people.

It was mass hysteria as the many students and teachers, fearing for their lives, flooded out of the field. I was running with my friends Sam and Miriam, and we paused by a swing set to take a breath. But when we turned around, Clive was nowhere in sight. A small group of teachers, students, and other random DCs who were still alive gathered around a swing set (Lol wut? Swing set at a high school? ) and were trying to figure out what to do. My professor said that if I wanted to stop Clive, I would have to wipe his IPad. I dashed back to the field, and stole the IPad, but Clive had installed a new program. The robot grew even larger, and was now about three times the size of my house.

I was sprinting for my life, but stupidly hadn't taken off my backpack, and noticed my cross-country coach's son Mike, who graduated two years ago, running down the street towards a college. I followed him, with Clive and the robot on my heels. Some random DC stopped me and asked why I was running. This sort of made me aware I was in a dream, but just barely. I shoved him aside, and he was killed by the robot.

Once I was inside the college, Mike stopped me. "Ben," he said. "You need to get back to the school so you can wipe the IPad on one of the computers. I can buy you some time, but only a bit." He took my hoodie and backpack, and put them on. "Finish what I've started Ben!" he shouted as he ran out the back door. Clive began to chase him, and I watched in vain as Mike was ripped apart by the robot's claws. "What?!" Clive screamed. Realizing his mistake, he turned around, but I was already halfway there. Then, my dream began to fade, and I woke up.

Analysis: I've been playing Professor Layton recently, so that explains Clive and the robot. I had my last cross-country meet yesterday, and I did very well, earning a medal and improving my personal record by twenty-six seconds. Mike was one of the best runners on the team two years ago, so I think that it meant that I should continue to run in the years to come, since I like the sport and am pretty good at it.

    3. Recurring Childhood Nghtmares

by , 10-25-2011 at 06:35 PM (Twisty's Gallery of Dreams)
I thought I'd post a couple of nightmares I'd repeatedly have as a young child.

1.) The Heffalump on the Stairs

This dream would always take place in the evening, when my family was having dinner. I wasn't with them, and was instead reading on my living room couch. Suddenly, a demonic-looking Heffalump (yes, from Winnie the Pooh) with sharp teeth and wings came slowly down the steps. I knew that this thing, whatever it was, was trying to get me, but when I tried to shout out to my family to help, my voice came out as a whisper. My legs and arms were going in slow-motion, and when the thing reached the the bottom of the steps, my dream ended.

2.) Chuck E Cheese Game of Death

This dream would always take place in a Chuck E Cheese's (don't laugh). There was this one game, that once a day would suck two random people inside of it and kill one of them, but release the other. I was picked, and I was slowly dragged into the machine with the other person. The machine picked the person to release, and it wasn't me. Then everything went black, and I woke up.

      3.) The Screaming Shack

This dream would always take place in the Screaming Shack, and I was always Harry Potter. Hermoine and I were in the Screaming Shack, and we had caught Peter Pettigrew. Suddenly, Snape and Lupin burst in, and started to yell at us. Then, the full moon came out, and Lupin transformed, killing Snape and Pettigrew. He came after Hermoine and me, but I fell and he lunged at me, and then everything went black and the dream ended.

All of these dreams deeply scared me when I was little, but around the age of 9, I just stopped having nightmares for some reason. I've only had maybe one or two since then.

    4. Dodgeball on the Grid

by , 10-24-2011 at 11:28 PM (Twisty's Gallery of Dreams)
      October 10, 2011

This is a dream I had a couple of weeks ago, before I joined DV.

I was in some sort of futuristic arena building, similar to my high school combined with The Grid, from Tron. It was filled with people, who were all supposed to compete in some sort of event. A buzzer sounded, and everyone took off.

There were large colored spots on the ground, which when you touched, improved the strength of one of your body parts. For example, the blue spots would make your right arm stronger, the yellow spots would make your left foot faster, and so on. The spots would shrink a little each time someone gained a power up from it, until there was none left.

Finally, another buzzer sounded, and we were all equipped with large paint balls. We had to throw the paint balls at the other people to try to knock them out of the competition, sort of like dodgeball. I had been doing very well, but I accidentally hit myself.

Everyone who had gotten out were put into a line to have some small backpack thing hooked up to them, but the dream ended before I reached the end of the line.

Analysis: I had recently seen one of my friends playing a Tron Light Cycle game, and had been to school , so that explains the setting. The rest I'm not sure about, though.
