Thread: /yawn boring. ima just wake up. wtf cant!

Not that this was really a bad thing, but this morning I couldnt get out of my LD for like 20minutes. I did a WILD in the middle of the night, sleep paralysis went on, pains in my head then I finally turned and tumbled into the void. About three times during the dream I'd black out and return to my dream bed. About 10minutes in, I tried to just wake up...and realized I couldn't. I just kept having false awakening after false awakening. I had this weird pain in my stomach too, which was why I wanted wake up i think. lol actually I woke up for a second or two, sighed in relief "finally...," but didn't move so sleep paralysis kicked back in with the head pains and I was back in this vicious cant get out cycle... lol.

I've never been able to not get out of my LD before(maybe because I never wanted to lol) It was honestly getting kind of boring, I would always false awaken back into my dream room where I seem to have little control. Once you get used to it its like being in your real room, just as boring lol. I think those are OBE's not LDs, i gotta work on transitioning them into LDs.

anyone have this sort of experience of cant wake up while being lucid? Anyone familiar with these relatively painful head pains when sleep paralysis starts up? or anyone have a question for me ?

WTF are you doing just sitting there in your boring room? go do amazing shiz once your lucid!
And if you want to wake up. Usually blinking really fast wakes me up.

I am surprised to see no mention of hypnagogic hallucinations. Do you pass into a dream without encountering them. How do you know when to tumble into the void?

I've experienced this a few times too. I get trapped in false awakenings for like 20 minutes. I don't have a solution yet. I think it might be that my brainwaves are in very shallow REM sleep, skipping along the boundary of waking. I didn't experience the pain in SP though.

It seemed like I couldn't do anything about it because, as soon as I gained enough awareness to realize what was happening, that is exactly what would trigger the false awakening. Last time it happened, I just tried to be patient and not exert any control in the hopes that the dream would "solidify" so to speak. But I was still stuck.

haha silverbullet, you're right. I usually find myself in my room everytime, then I fly through the roof or blow my door open(sometimes i pound my fist on it and it doesnt break and i gotta use the handle, LOLfail)

@elucid: ya I dunno, for me, i always find myself getting more and more relaxed as I go into my WILD... after 15-30minutes, it gets harder and harder to remain aware of my breathing, thoughts are scattered and you know the feeling. But then all of assuden my head will feel like its being pressed from a directions and i'll usually hear this sound of zooming through some sort of time warp(language fail). As soon as the weird/uncomfortable(sometimes painful) head sensations dissapear, I feel really light, like I have no body at all. At that point I just roll into the void, or float up. I'm going to try just chilling after SP fully goes into affect, because everytime i roll or float I always find myself in my boring room... I'ma wait for some images to arise i suppose..

One day ima own my dream world, been LDing for over a year now and I've gotten better for sure... but still so much to learn... Its all pretty much trial and error..

Just a thought, if you keep encountering FA's, why not just go along with the dream for a bit? I mean, I know there was one dream I had a long time ago where I couldn't wake up with any method. Then a dream character walked up to me and said, "Don't try and get out. Enjoy it here." So, I just acted like it was normal life. Shortly after, the dream faded and I woke up.

I dunno if this will help, but you could try and continue the dream if you can't wake up from it.
