Struggling to control myself in lucid dreams

I have recently had 2 very short lucid dreams. I haven't been interested in lucid dreams very long, i don't have a reality check, i don't know my dream signs. In my first lucid dream i became lucid because i was flying and it was something i really wanted to do in my lucid dreams. I was above this snowy wilderness environment, and during the dream i couldn't remember what I had planned to do when i became lucid. So i was flying around for a short time and then for no reason at all i flew straight up into the air and like a plane stalled out fell backwards, and had a false awakening. I don't remember trying to fly straight up, it just happened. I am positive i was lucid during this. When I had my false awakening I woke up and just sat up to look at my clock but it wasn't there. It only lasted like 2 seconds before i actually woke up and i was terrified because i didn't believe in false awakenings.
The second lucid dream was a wake induced one where i was focusing on the street i grew up on. It felt like i stepped into this visual picture and i turned around to see what would happen and 2 of my friends were there, but i only remember who one of them was. I again didn't try to prolong the dream or do anything else, i just made a shooting gesture with my hands at one of my friends and woke up.
It seems like I'm reaching this half lucid state where I realize I'm dreaming but I don't have full control of my actions. It's confusing because i remember doing somethings like examining the landscape in the first dream but then my body does things I don't tell it to do. I hear about how people have these amazing lucid dreams and I'm just angry with my experience so far. I'm just looking for some advice about what I should try.

What you should try? Ill say more Lucids. Dont have your first and expect crystal vivid dreams. Most people have their, and its just black and they cant move. Just keep having them, and theyll get better and better. You may also try some
stabilisation techniques. Like rubbing your hands, spinning etc. Works for some people.

      Cheers!

It sounds like you're doing really well for your first couple of LDs.

Stabilising the dream is really important because it will bring clarity to the dream and you'll have more control. Rubbing your hands together is good, I also find touching objects, a wall or the ground in the dream is really effective.

If the dream starts to fade try repeating to yourself 'I'm dreaming, I'm dreaming, I'm dreaming'. I've found this helps maintain lucidity through scene changes and false awakenings.

Hope that helps and happy dreaming!

Also remember that you can have control without lucidity, and lucidity without control.
