      Killing a DC...

Today I had my first "I have the power" LD (I mean I really had control over it), but ironically it was one of the least vivid. Well, the point is this, while on it, a DC started to annuy me, he kept chasing me. I warned him not to do it any more, but he didnīt listen. And so, I was forced to kill him (as he was ruinning the experience), I crashed his head with my hands. I never intended to do so, in fact I didnīt want to. But the situation was out of control, has anyone been in a similar situation?
And because itīs old, itīs thaught as true...

You're lucky... my main DC is a manifestation of my subconscious, he can't be killed and really screws around with anything he wants to. I mean, i've tried EVERY possible weapon on him from a stinger missle to a car battery (that was a strange dream).

Next time, just keep kicking the shit outta him... that'd be funnier.

I had a dream exactly like that a while ago. Only I just waved my hands and then they shattered like glass, but then things went from bad to worse and then much worse. Since then I'd rather not kill DC's.

If a DC is bothering you, you could just do something more peaceful like freezing them in place or sending them to some other place.

      a dream character.

Killing a DC is somthing I've never done. I've often fought in dreams, but I allways find myself weak and unable to do serious damage.

I'm not sure if this is the dream, or if it's just dream paralysis.

However, the other day I was under attack be two DC's. I had a combat knife, and I managed to disarm one of the characters of their knife, I then held the knives backhand and defended their attacks.

In defending, I seemed to damage them, for the first time, I was comming off better.

Instead of going on the offensive, try a more passive action. Maybe you're being too aggressive and need to find a more peaceful approach.

It's probably different for different people.

Often times I've been extremely aggresive and had no problem my power against dream characters.

I would imagine that as you become more experienced with LDing your control will only increase.

you have nothing to worry about dude lol. i've killed off many dream characters before. mostly minor ones (i fought zombies before and crushed ones chest with a sledge hammer ) but i killed the occasional dream character before. what rally sucks is when you can't kill them.
i just started learning about ld's not to long ago and this was before i started learning but i was in a dream and after some events i had a shotgun and my friend was walking behind me being really annoying and like 7 people were around him. so, terminator style, i put the shotgun over my shoulder and without looking unloaded. i turned around and everyone else was on the ground dead except for that frekin idiot and he was still dancing! needless tosay he was very annoying,
and when he gets to heaven, to saint peter he will tell. "one more soldier reporting sir. i've served my time in hell"

Try loving them. You will be surprised at what they do. Just open you arms and say something like "I want to be your friend" and mean it sincerely. They sometimes change into a friend or you may find they melt into you and the problem is solved. 8)

Then she lit on fire and it was absolutly HILLARIOUS! I'm not sure if she died i can't remember this dream that far back...however/unfortuantly this wasn't an LD

      Dear Pez,

The reason a low and annoying Dream Character was bothering you was because you were in the Realm of Low and Annoying Dream Characters. It may have occurred to you that you only needed to levitate and fly away from that Low Plane and go to a Higher Realm where the company would have better manners.

But you choose to kill that annoying little man with your bare hands. Remarkable. Now, please, don't let anybody convince you that that is acceptably behavior. Its not. It shows that you have impulse control problems, anger issues, and that it is likely that you will one day be incarcerated for violent crime.

Yes, there is a difference between intentional and deliberate crime, and crimes of passion (my Angels once came to me and actually gave me a lecture differentiating between 'Black' Sin and 'Red' Sin -- Black Sin being intentional and predatory, and Red Sin being of passion and flesh. Black Sin is a greater spiritual threat, as it follows with the Sinner. Red Sin is largely a matter of situation -- removed from provocations and from temptations the Red Sins largely vanish. But this means that those subject to Red Sin must be confined where they can be kept safe, from themselves.) You need to get some control over yourself. If you act with instinctive violence in a dream, are you not close to striking people in real life?

Remember, the greatest thing about Lucidity is that it gives us choices. If you don't like the characters you meet in the low purgatorial realms, then don't dream there.

And about being able to 'freeze' Dream Characters... Oh Pooh! You can do that only if your Higher Mind allows you to. If you think you have absolute control over your dreams, you are either completely fooling yourself, or you are cut off completely from the Collective Life of the Higher Mind which can no longer get through to you.

I've only ever killed DCs in a non-lucid dream environment.

The most recent one was where I was at this house trying to buy some drugs with my brother. My brother went into a room to test the merchandise, when I suddenly heard a gunshot. Fearing the worst I ran into the room and saw my brother darting out the window, towards our car in the parking lot.

There were several dealers in the room, with guns drawn, firing out the window at my brother. I looked around and found an axe leaning against the wall near the door, so I picked it up and began sinking the blade into the heads of the dealers.

It wasn't so bad, since the axe blade sunk cleanly into their heads with little resistance from there skulls. Also there was no blood (which was odd) and when I dislodged the axe blade from there head there was only a slit where the blade was once nested.

I agree with leo volont and dreamtamer. Try showing some compassion instead of violence, over DC's you dont like. This is not like just hitting someone else you dont like in the real world, this is about hitting yourself.

I can't honestly think of anytime when I killed a DC in a lucid dream. o_o Mostly, the only time I fight in a dreamis when something attacks me. xD
During a LD, it seems that there are never and DCs around. o_o
About the only time when I see them, is when they are against me. o_o

Well, in my dreams I cant kill DCs I know. Random dudes die/disappear easily, but the people I know dont.

No matter what I do, they remain standing. I can backstab them with a sword, yet they will just look at me and laugh, dozens of rounds from various firearms dont do anything.

If we engage in hand to hand combat, I almost always can overpower the enemy, but I cant completely defeat them...

Thinking about it I see 2 problems:
      a) I dont use my weapon as focus and there's no will to kill the DC. There's just combat as soon as we see each other...
      B) Maybe I'm supposed to talk to them or banish them otherwise...

I've only killed a DC once. I had been having a reccuring dream for about two months where a man killed me. I had the dream once or twice a night. I started taking control of the dream and escaping death, but the dreams didn't stop. So I killed the DC that was my would-be murderer. I have never had the dream since I killed the DC.

I find that intimidating DCs is a more elegant solution than killing them, although I have completely no ethical problems with killing DCs (and don't understand people that do).

I see what you mean, but I think that killing a DC is just ignoring their purpose.

They're there for a reason, and killing them to get rid of them is the ultimate proof that human's solution to everything is violence.

Understanding is the best thing you can do. Understand why the DC is there.

Anything else is just a war inside your head.

Not every single dream has a purpose or reason, and this is also true for individual components in a dream, including DCs. Sometimes they have a meaning and important psychological implications, at other times they're random garbage pulled from somewhere deep in your brain. Killing a DC is frankly just as ethically wrong as killing a character in a computer game. Nobody died and nothing is actually destroyed nor erased in both cases, not even the code that governs the behaviour of a game character (or the mental mechanisms that govern the behaviour of your DCs). The worst thing that could happen is that you could feel a bit guilty for the rest of that dream.

And if violence is efficient at resolving a certain problem which can't be resolved by other means - let it be used (in a dreaming context, I am not advocating the use of violence to solve real life problems).
