Lightbulb No powers in my Lucid Dreams?

      Hey guys

A few days ago I had this lucid dream where I was just playing a game on my PS3 (Game console) and my sister was on her laptop. I'm not sure what happened but something in my mind suddenly clicked, I knew I was in a dream. Before I could do anything (maybe i got too excited), everything just went white, I couldn't see anything AT ALL.

When this light dissapeared, I was in the exact same place as where I started the dream, playing my game, I still knew I was in a dream so I decided to try throw my sister around with mind power (We have a strange relationship...), when nothing happened, I got scared and started doubting what I could do, then my sister put on the ugliest face i've ever seen and started teleporting around the room like some kind of slenderman thing, next thing I know she's ontop of me, doing her ugly face right on me, I couldn't do anything and she felt soo heavy, eventually I woke up, scared as hell (3rd Lucid Dream).

The creepiest Lucid Dream I've had where I had no powers was when my brother was fighting my sister (he's only 6), I needed to go to school so he asked me if he him to drive, I said ''sure'' and he started driving, then the same clicky feeling in Lucid Dream 3 came, I knew it was a dream, straight away decided to fly. The same white light came and I dissapeared, I felt like I was flying but couldn't see anything, next thing I know I have this falling sensation for about 3 minutes, then wake up to a much needed Sleep Paralysis scenario. After that was done I had nothing to do so I decided to search up if anyone else has the same problem where they don't have any powers in their dreams.

So I ask you gaiz, do you have any explanation as to why I don't have any powers over my lucid dreams, do i need to do a reality check or something? Please answer

You try to throw your sister about but your relationship with your sister is too complicated, and you fail because part of you already doubted whether you could, and this failure just confirms to you that you can't, and once the doubt sets in it grows out of proportion, and out of just being unable to throw your sister around this grows to your being completely powerless and your dream character of your sister being in control of you.

I think that given that the relationship with your sister is complicated, I would suggest maybe trying to control other stuff first in lucid dreams and try to not mess with your sister (or the dream character representing your sister) for now in lucid dreams. Once you have gained more self confidence and control and no longer doubt your abilities in your own dreams as much, then you can return to dealing with your siter in some way. That's one possible approach.

Another possible approach is the very opposite: you definitely have some unresolved issues with your sister in your dreams. Lucid dreams are a great tool for overcoming nightmares, and this was a nightmare. In your waking life try to daydream visualize that same scene with your sister but this time visualize yourself as in control of the situation. Set your intension: next time I am dreaming I will be in control. Even if you do not dream of your sister, if you become lucid, go seek her out, because you have an unresolved issue there which you need to resolve. Remember that sometimes talking can be more powerful than throwing. Remember to keep eye contact. Tell her that you are not afraid of her, and that she is not in control of you and your dream. Make sure to believe it.

These are two possible approaches, and of course they are not the only possible ones. Do what seems like the best approach to you. Self confidence is the key to your success.

Thanks Joanna, I haven't had much Lucid Dreams my entire life, I actually started trying a few weeks ago, I think I should try a different method of Lucid Dreaming. And incase you got the wrong impression from my strange relationship quote thingy, I didn't mean it that way, I ment like sometimes we are friends, sometimes we fight, but it's all ok, I'm confused as to why she turned evil, I wasn't even thinking of her, she was just there.

I can't seem to do much in my lucid dreams, so what I do is I use a magical object to help me, eg the apple of eden (From Assassin's Creed) To stop time when I was being chased. The problem is that you may doubt a little bit of what you can do. If you use a magical object you should be able to believe it more, giving you more power.
