Not Sure What To Do Once Lucid... It Just Happens + Other Questions?

Hi, I hadn't had a lucid dream for a few months until last night where everything went rather weird. My dream recollection isn't very good at this time but, i'll try to work on it. Anyway last night I can recall having a nightmare in which I turned around and there was some scary monster, blah de blah. I guess I've gotten over it as whenever I realised I'm dreaming I know theres something behind so I automatically wake up. Anyway last night I turned around, and just screamed, rubbed my eyes and woke up.. in a classroom, with everyone in my science class. I soon realised I was dreaming and decide what the hell? and tried to become fully lucid, I took deep brethes and tried using my senses but everyone was just running about and moving all over the place, I couldn't concentrate, so I made my self a room, which i was quite impressed with as I've never accomplished anything in a LD besides flying..

To do this I held my hand out to a wall and it started to crack and spread apart; leaving a white square, i then pushed my hand forward which made the square into a Cube shaped room that I could walk into with a bed, window and decoration. I sat down on the bed.. but then i do wake up.. I tried to stay completely still and go back to sleep but I was in a incredibly uncomfortable position... so no luck there. I really have beaten around the buch but I just wanted to make sure people understood every detail but the point i'm trying to make is I didn't really think about what I was doing when I was lucid it just happened, usually when I do think 'i'm lucid, its my dream i can do THIS' nothing happens... Is this good thing? is there a way I can just be by my self and not have other people with me? acting as if their not part of a dream.
-Little random questions how can I stop being aware of this annoying feeling of something behind me?
Thanks for any help - btw I haven't been practicing LD'ing in a while, no RC or looking out for dream signs, nothing. I guess this dream occoured due to me visiting the website recently. Thanks again

Expectations are everything in dream control, don't limit yourself by thinking that there are things you can't do!

Anyway, once you work more in your lucidity it should be easier to take control of the whole dream, like preventing distractions or failing dream control. Just ignore the buzz, like you do when you're studying with the television next to you. You can achieve this to talk loudly to yourself, saying things like "This is a dream. I am dreaming. I control the dream, because none of this is real." Practice helps, but you really need to stress this steps until you master them, and don't be afraid of repeating them once in a while inside the lucid dream, as they will only increase your mental clarity and hold you in lucidity land. Good luck!

PS: regarding the feeling of something behind you, ignore it. You have to be able to detach yourself from things you don't want to interact with. That's the easiest way to make them go away.

When you think the word lucid, you should think of this. When you realize that you are just lying down imagining all of this, the fact that none of it is real and that there are no limitations should follow.

When I want a DC to disappear I just ignore it, unsummon it, or teleport away. Ignoring it should make it disappear if you take it out of your mind. Nothing can survive in the dreamscape without your attention is something that I think in order to do this. I don't 100% agree with it, but it has been helpful.

Check out sivasons dream yoga class for ideas on how to ignore things better. Meditation is a great tool to LDing if you wish it to be.

For unknown reasons, everything in your mind other than your direct ego can be destroyed by ignoring it. Simply disregard the thing behind you. Also, don't worry, there are plenty of things to do while lucid.
