The spinning technique wakes me up everytime ..

Ive had a total of 8 lucid dreams now in about 40 nites, and 4 of them, ive tried the spinning technique, whether it was to try and stabalize a dream, or simple becuz i was bored of my surroundings and wanted to change them, and each time, I would close my eyes, begin to spin, feel the pull on my body, hten I would wake up...every time, I will just wake up.

Its gotten to the point where its frustrating, the last two lucid dreams ive had, as soon as ive become lucid, out of habit it seems, ill tell myself to relax, and calm down, and ill either close my eyes and start spinning to try and go to a relaxing place, or ill simple just close my eyes and concentrate, and it seems like every time I spin, or even close my eyes I suddenly wake up....its upsetting me seeing as how im wasting away lucid dreams, waking myself up after only being in them for a few seconds =(

You might try not closing your eyes. A lot of people say that when they close their eyes in a dream, it makes them wake up.

One thing I noticed when I realize im dreaming is, my eyes wont feel like they are fully open, so i'll try to open them all the way, and end up actually opening them in real life and then end up waking up.

But if your trying to calm down, yell out "Calm Down Now", and take deep breaths (so to speak) and try relaxing.Afterwards, yell out "Increase Clarity Now" and see if that helps.

I noticed when i start to feel like im waking up or something because I have started to do things on my own I just let things go as they would without me doing me anything. For example putting something from auto pilot (you not lucid) manual pilot (you lucid) then when you are waking up try putting it back to auto pilot.

This happend to me once, and i discovered that it was because i did it to fast, I realized i was dreaming and instantly i got to excited and began to spin to fast and that was the shortest lucid dream i've ever had, it lasted like five seconds. The difference was that i was doing it with my eyes open, why don't you try to change the landscape with your eyes open, it might work for you.
So I woke up pretty angry and I began looking for other ways to stabelize my lucid dreams and found rubbing your hands. I thought this was very silly so i asked somebody and he said that all the things that feel like moving fast or in motion make you get back the vividness of the dream so i tryed it out and it worked perfectly. I got back the vividness of the dream and now I do it all the time.

Here's a link of a post I did about rubbing my hands:

      try this,

come close to a wall, a clock, any object and then notice its details. focus on the details and let ur mind create more details, that helps to increase dream realism and maybe even change the scenery.

      stay lucid!!

Dream spinning doesnt work for me as well. Even worse, even saying "I want to stabilize and extend my dream" woke me up last time I said that. So I'm not very enthusiastic about trying to actively stabilize the dream.

I've noticed that performing RCs and paying attention to details might help extend LDs, but it wont prevent awakening.

Another method that I find extremely beneficial is reentering lucid dreams after waking up. Pretty much focus on the last scene of a lucid dream after you woke up and you are very likely to end up in that scene.

Every time I've tried spinning to stabalize a fading dream, it has worked wonders. Although, I tend to get too excited about being lucid and try to do everything at once, so the lucidity doesn't last long. For example, one time I found myself in my living room when I became lucid. I immediately spun in a few circles, watching my feet, and the reality tone increased dramaticaly. I got realy excited and ran accross the walls of the room, then proceeded to tell my Dad that I was dreaming, thinking it was actualy him, ergo, lucidity faded.

For me, trying to focus on details makes the environment destablize terribly. It's the same when I try to draw something; I can see the picture in my head, but I can't pick out any one detail to put on paper. I think it has something to do with being right-brained (left-handed).

My most efficient method of stabalization is rubbing my hands together. I get an intense electrical buzz in them, like the 'pins and needles' feeling when an apendage has fallen asleep.
