      Dream prolonging problem

      Hello people

I noticed that every single night, i have the same repetive ' dream schedule '. Every night i have one or two ' main dreams ' of approximately 30 min. These occur after 4-5 hours of sleep. Then after another 2 hours of sleep, i enter only REM period. I enter dozens of dreams, and wake up after, let's say, 3-5 minutes per dream. When woken up and falling asleep again, i immediately enter a dream again and again wake up after a short period of time. I have 2 qeustions about this: why am i waking up so quickly, but still entering dream after dream? 2nd: if i get lucid in a short period dream, can i prevent myself from waking up and put all these short period REM-phases together using dream prolonging techniques to make it one long lucid? Hope you guys can help me out!

It sounds like you're doing a lot of DEILDs.

I can't really help with either question, but it sounds like DEILD-chains.

Hi, first of all your first two main dreams are most probably REM's too.

I think it is not a bad thing to wake up often, even more, I think that is a very good thing to do. There are several reasons for that. First is that you will recall more, every time you wake up you can think of what you dreamt just for a second and it is enough to make that memory stronger. Second is that you can do some logical thinking while awake and then comeback to your previous dream and do what you want to do there.

You just need to learn to stay relaxed during those wake ups, as if you are between dream and awake world. Try not to perceive it as something bad, instead enjoy it. If you do not want to stay awake for a long time, don't. As soon as you realize that you woke up just go back to your dream, it will happen instantaneously, you will not miss any events in your dream and you can always come back to the same dream.
From my experience, if those wake ups started, I don't think you can prevent your self from waking up at that time, even if you are lucid. You can reduce those wake ups to such small periods that you will not notice them.

All my dreams are lucid and I have similar dream schedule to yours. At first I have 2-3 main DILD's, followed by what people usually call DEILD's, just endless DEILD's, same what you experience. Sometimes I add nREM WILD when I first fall asleep, so then it is nREM WILD followed by 2-3 REM DILD's then followed by many many DEILD's. DEILD's might be the same dream or might be new dreams, you can choose whether you want the same or you want a new one.

Sometimes I have another dream schedule where I start or don't start with nREM WILD and then I keep having REM DILD's, they are very long, the longer I sleep the more DILD's I have, every new DILD is longer and longer. If you want to have this kind of schedule you need to learn to go to sleep without any excess thinking about lucid dreaming. Keep your awareness at high levels and go to sleep with empty mind, you will then not have those endless DEILD's.

What you experience is very good, you would not have this if your recall would be bad. Now you only need to improve your awareness, learn to be lucid and enjoy full night LD time

If you get required awareness you will be lucid in most of your dreams.

What exactly you mean by jump from LD to LD?

for exaple: You get lucid, and wake up. You fall asleep within 3 mins, and because you got the required awereness, it will be a lucid one.

Yea, when going back to sleep you always have more chances to have it lucid. And the higher is your awareness the easier it will be for you.
