      Speaking to a voice

I have these spooky dreams, ironically not spooky at the time, where I converse with a voice.

It's definitely not a dream in the typical sense.

For instance, the voice once told me "this is important!" and told me about some information than eventually helped me out IRL.

It's very dramatic and strong. Is this my subconscious?

      Has anyone had anything similar?

I contrast it to dreams which I just "know" are a creation of my mind.

It's kind of spooky because it makes you think of spirits or demons. And I live in a house where someone passed so it makes it extra spooky. I don't want to open myself up to demon possession or anything like that.

I know people hear voices with schizophrenia.

Just curious if anyone has had this happen. I've really only had it happen in the last year, the more I push to dream.

Sometimes voices appear out of seemingly thin air in my dreams; maybe they're deamons, but I rather doubt that. More likely they are created by the sub- or unconscious parts of my mind. And they sure as heckfire are never going to possess me. Nobody can be possessed, who does not already want that to happen.

Use your logical, waking mind to decide whether the voices are telling you reasonable things, or whether they are unreasonable. And then decide on whether to cherish this source of free consulting, or to poke fun at it.

Incidentally, I once lived in a room, where the previous tenant killed himself and lay in there for a week, before being discovered. He never bothered me at all; probably had better things to do. Who wouldn't.

So ... is this the real universe, or is it just a preliminary study?

The prior owners said my house was haunted. I never asked about the details about the person that died, but I've had nightmares about the house and I'm not one that normally has nightmares. I've had guests that had nightmares as well. I've moved out of one room because I've had issues sleeping there.

I've had scary sleep paralysis. I've a dream-wake state where I saw someone hanging over me. Once I moved to another room, it stopped.

So I'm a little paranoid about voices. Although the voice, I should just say voice because its the same, has never been anything negative.

What if this person hanging over you during sleep paralysis is the same voice that is present in dreams? I tend to think so!

      ..

I talked to rhis voice in my lucid dream and I do believe I invited some negative spirit simply by opening up and making myself vulnerable. But... Just like Voldmer suggested. I used my waking rationale and quick thinking to identify a nightmarish aspect and resist any sort of negativity. The voice was definitely trustworthy and is consistent in it's advice! In the dream itself what manifested was a person who was talking to me. This person I do not trust completely. But I think.. And i'm speculating. That even this negativity is a lesson to be learned. Nothing to be feared except fear itself. Love is truth here. I really believe that.

Good luck in ur endaevours! There's a world of magic waiting for you :3 But one certainly has to have a sense of openness to receive the teachings in dreams.
