Usually in my dreams I have a problem of dream characters running away from me, and I am far to slow to catch up to them. This is a probelm in both my lucid and non-lucid dreams. I think it has something to do with the fact that my greatest fear is to be left behind.

So, after I became lucid (in only my 3rd lucid dream) I decided I would talk to a dream charachter and try to mess with them a bit. Immediatley as I began walking towards them they started to run away and I had no means of catching up to them. (I have the common problem of not being able to run in my dreams)

Being lucid, I found this quite annoying, and I tried verbally telling the person to stop, but this only made them run faster. So, I decided to try something different.

I imagined two pylons appearing out of the ground in front of the dream charachter, and between the pylons appeared a shimmering blue forcefield. I was utterly amazed when this actually happened, and the dream charachter was stopped in her tracks.

I took my time and walked slowly over to the dream charachter and began to have a conversation with them.

I was really excited, because this was my first form of dream control, and I could use it to stop my greatest fears from happening within the dreams. I immediatley began using this forcefield method for a number of other things. Usually I would use it to stop dream charachters, but I also used moving forcefields to move heavy objects and to bring dream charachters closer to me.

It worked every time!

I am so glad that I have found an effective method of dream control.

On another note, I tried flying in my dream, but all I could manage was a jump of about 20 feet. And then, using the same logic as the forcefield, I decided that I would take a magic pill which would make me fly.

this pill didn't fully work, but it increased my jump to several hundred feet...but I ended up not going any farther because as I flew my dream began to fade, so I came back down.

I'm just glad to have a bit more control over my dreams. I would suggest using forcefields to anyone who is having trouble stopping objects or dream characters from running away from them, or for moving things.

Are there any other ideas that would help me do things? For instance, I want to be able to transform myself into another form, but nothing I do seems to work. Should I take a pill in my dream for this too? And I would also like to fly without my dream fading. I use the "stare at your palm" teqnique to help extensively with maintaining a vivid dream, but I'm not sure what to do while in flight.

thanks
