      Lying down didn't work

      I read that lying down in a dream pro-longs the dream, or at least, makes you wake up in another dream. So I did it, and someone just layed on top of me and trapped me, damn them! I stayed calm, and woke up. But it wasnt too nice. It would be useful if someone could briefly list methods of prolonging the dream, I heard that staring at the floor does it, but again, thiS didn't work for me. Whats the normal lengh for LDs? My longest was the other day, and only about 7 or 8 mins dreamtime, who knows in real time.

      hah, sory to hear that. I cannot beleive someone sat on you If you want to prolong your dreams, try spinning around or rubbing your hands. It works well.

      Mate, the best way to prolong an LD is constant activity .

      I find the backwards-spinning clock thing working REALLY well.
      It easily prolonged a lucid dream of mine to ''1 hour'' dreamtime.
      Realtime? 5 minutes =_=, I got woken up by my alarm (I keep forgetting that if I smash the SNOOZE button it will auto-alert after 5 minutes again).

      I went to bed again, the same lucid dream continued, and again: 1 hour dreamtime, 5 minutes real-time.

      It was fun

      Also note that during those dreams closing my eyes did NOT ''make me wake up''.

      The rubbing hands technique really works according to most (accompanied by a shout like "LUCIDITY! LOL!")

      Hmm, I agree here. I've tried to lie down twice, in my last two dreams, but all thats happened is my dream has instantly gone wild, and I've had to try to regain the strength of it! I dunno why, it just goes mad when I 'imagine' the sky. Im not sure I've been lucid enough each time though.

      P.s.

      This sounds interesting, and I'm lazy; explain this technique to me, please!

      @Wolffe:

      HandRub technique: looking at your hands, rubbing them, then shouting something like LUCIDITY! CLARITY! SOMETHING!, is ''supposedly'' prolonging a dream.

      And the backwards spinning clock, just create a clock or find one, then spin it BACKWARDS (through ''magic'' or just using your hands to spin it backwards). And then I find myself having a much much longer lucid dream.

      ^--- note to do these during a lucid dream, not when awake xD
