Is anyone else always lucid every night??

I was wondering if anyone else is lucid every night because I am. I find it a little weird because I lucid dream every night and i never met anyone else who does.

      every night

I am lucid almost each time I fall asleep. -I'd say about 95% of the time anyway. I think that I have learned ways (both unconsciously and consciously) to attain lucidity. Sometimes I can begin a dream where I left off in the last one even after waking up. Sometimes this is not a good thing (if the dream is negative).

I agree, sometimes I can go back to a dream and finish it to, but like you said, sometimes thats not good.

Just a question... I once heared that if you are having a lucid dream and you go and talk to someone who is also in a lucid dream you two can be in the same dream together... Has that really happened to any of you? I just thought I'd ask cause both of you lucid dream a lot. I don't know if it is true though.

      dreaming together?

I've never heard anything about that, but I have entertained the same idea. Sometimes lucid dreams are so realistic that I may be confused as to whether I am awake or asleep, so when I see someone that I recognize and I know that I am dreaming, I sometimes believe during the dream that I am sharing the dream with them. I always discount that notion when I wake up though.

I am. I just found this site today. I've been practicing a few of the techniques listed on the home page like reality testing. Basically i'll fall asleep and start dreaming when I do I look at my fingernails and imagine them growing. If they grow I know i'm dreaming, then I start runnin a muck! But then I get really excited and the dream starts to fade, until today I wasn't aware that getting excited was causing me to wake up. Things just all of a sudden get fuzzy and I know I'm waking up (yeah I get mad) I'll try the spinng tech tonight and hopefully have better luck staying lucid

      Always lucid.

Hi =) just found this forum myself as well. You are not alone, I have been a lucid dreamer since I can remember, I didnt realize it when I was a kid and everyone kinda looked at me funny when I told them about my dreams... they still look at me funny now that I think of it

My problem is recall, I have a hard time remembering my dreams at times.

I have a question for those that are always lucid...Does it bother you? I may be looking into it too deeply but the concept of reality and dream is muddled for me. When I dream I can controll myself and sometimes a few things external to me but it requires expenditure of energy. If I try to do too much like change the dream totaly I wake up with a headache ususaly though stuff like magic and psi works to a point sometimes the rules are no different from this world.

How long are your periods of lucidity? I have had some long dreams, long as in the order of years, the memories of the dream are just like memories of say last month or year.

Rem sleep is supposed to be when you dream lucidly Ive had a long dream only 7 minutes after I dropped off to sleep it was probably sooner than that because I woke up at the 7 min mark. Does anyone else experience this ever?

      Questions questions questions!!!

      drat back to work.

      Qs Qs Qs... 2 cents

      >I have a question for those that are always lucid...Does it bother you?

It used to bother me, but only because the majority of my dreams were nightmarish. Now I have gotten so used to these that I am able to control/ overcome my fear. Now I usually have a great deal of control, so it is more interesting and fun than bothersome.

      >I can controll myself and sometimes a few things external to me but it >requires expenditure of energy. If I try to do too much like change the >dream totaly I wake up with a headache...

I also have a lot of magic and sorcery related dreams and have woken up with a headache a few times -only after the most vivid and intense dreams. Other times, I feel fine physically, but wake up muddled and unable to concentrate well. The magic dreams seem to be very draining during the dreams, but usually after waking and doing exercises (stretching and breathing), I can re-enter the dream or enter a new one feeling restored.

      >How long are your periods of lucidity?

It is almost impossible to tell since time is very different in dreamland as you know... I have looked at the clock a few times in the past and noticed that only a few minutes had gone by -while at other times I have had short periods of lucidity even though hours had gone by. Go figure.

      >I have had some long dreams, long as in the order of years, the >memories of the dream are just like memories of say last month or >year.

Not sure exactly what you mean. I have had dreams where it seems as if I have time-traveled into the past or am reliving a past experience...

      >...7 minutes after I dropped off to sleep it was probably sooner than that >because I woke up at the 7 min mark. Does anyone else experience this >ever?

yep. Sometimes I dream lucidly immediately after falling asleep, or while falling asleep and the dream itself seems to last an eternity, when in reality only 10 minutes have past.

Evangel, what i mean is the period of time you recall in the dream, sometimes its ony a few moments or hours but sometimes I have dreams that it feels as if years have past, I cannot wake myself from them either.

Its almost like I go to sleep here and then, I wake up someplace else, its disorienting as hell as my memory is shot to crap when I wake up. It takes a little time but I start to remember things about wherever I am like I have been there before, it is not random images its a very solid world, they usualy have slightly different rules to them meaning what you can and cant do regarding the laws of physics/magic psi all that good stuff. I can read, write, argue with people there how its just a dream, and lose...I sleep and dream normal weird ass dreams and wake up still there. After a couple months you just kinda give up and take it as reality or go insane. The worst part is when I am finaly acclimated again and everything feels ok I go to sleep and wake up here again makes me feel like I am the ass end of some cruel joke. The one thing I do like about it all is that I have experienced quite alot, it helps me deal with things here, I dont think I would be the person I am were it not for all these experiences so yeah it has its ups and downs just like anything else.

Anyone have any input ideas comments anything that might explain these lengthy "dreams" or possibly similar experiences? I will post some of my experiences in the right forum later but for now, back to werk wheeee.

I dream EVERY time I sleep, even if it is a catnap. I can relate to Serinanth in terms of falling asleep here and waking up there (see many Worlds Within post). The only drawback to this is that I never seem to lose consciousness. I am ALWAYS aware, and I must admit that it makes my life seem stretched out. I have used heavy sedatives and tried seriously inebriating myself just to shut everthing off, but it never worked. I just ended up having distorted lucid dreams. The main problem is that I have recall for about 98% of my dreams. I can remember most of my dreams from age six on. I'm 38 and a bit tired.

Not always. I have a high metabolism and I produce a great deal of body heat when I sleep. I talk as well as move when I dream.

lol Ive been reffered to as a furnace myself 8) My body seems to do a good job of resting a bit while im off galavanting in some other world though.

But yeah, Ive used the exact same words, "I never seem to loose consiousness" unless I do some heavy drinking. Its kind of nice knowing somone else out there has the same deal. Im only 23 so its good to know theres somone older than me and still sane .

Aneas, I am curious as to if you ever wonder how old "you" are too.

This is kinda hard question. Makes me think... I dont recall everynight but nine times out ten when i do recall its lucid. There are times im lucid dreaming and just dont really do much with it, its like im tired or something. And if i consume large quanities of beer forget about recalling im to hung over to be thinking about dreams i need some food.

Shared dream do happen, I've been lucky enough to have one... I duno if it was lucky though seemed to piss some things off and I got into trouble =/

So yeah shared dreams work =) you need to have a strong emotional connection to the person usualy, sometimes you get a random person like you did, wasnt me that gave you the blunt though, mmmm thats not a bad idea though

      real person

So do you think it was actual real person somewhere, or merely a figment of my imagination....I guess that's something I'll never know? It would be really something if the people in our dreams are really other people dreaming.

Well thats the thing, the person you met you do not know in the waking world, when you meet somone in dream that you know you can ask them. Perhaps you will meet this person in the future? who knows.

I have found you can tell the difference from a construct (created by you) or the real deal, Its in the eyes, always the eyes. Its just something you can tell. After I had my first shared dream that I could prove... well not prove, but the other participant and I questioned each other and we are sure we had it together. I noticed that her eyes were different, I wish I could explain it, and there was a weird feeling, along with less controll than I normaly have in dream, I look to see if their eyes seem different or if I have a hunch, if so and the dream isint as stable as normal, 9 times outa ten for me its the real deal and then I can ask the person I thought was really there the next day and sho nuff they had a dream I was in. That sound remarkably like the one I had.

Did you notice anythign different about that person? like I said I see it in the eyes, perhaps he seemed a little more vivid to you or anything that might have grabbed your attention about him other than he spoke to you and handed you a cannon. Actuall was the act of him speaking to you and you remembering it so vividly different?

And dont worry if no one will ever know whether it was a real person or not. You will give yourself a headache, It happened and it was real when it happened, the onlything that is real is now.

It could have been a real person. People appearing in the land of dreams don't often appear as you know them in the waking world. I rarely ever look like myself in my dreams. In fact, most of the time I look like my avatar over there. =)

      <----

I can't explain how I know when real people are real people and not just constructs in the dream world. I just do... maybe it's a girl thing. My friends have always said I'm very spiritually sensitive. Sometimes constructs will appear fuzzy, out of focus. Other times, they're clear and sharp but I still know that they're something my Self as come up with. I find that most dream constructs are a representation of something within myself. Real people, on the other hand... Yeah, I guess I've got to agree with Seri. It's in the eyes. And the feel. Sometimes I can feel their presense, sort of like when you know who is behind you without having to look over your shoulder.

I am lucid 99% of the time my body is sleeping. Does it bother me? Sometimes it does, depending on the situation. Sometimes I'm dragged into places I don't want to be, and I can't leave until my body decides it's good and ready to call me back again. I've been dreamwalking for as long as I can remember but sometimes I still wake up very disoriented. And sometimes I'm still not used to it.

To answer your quesiont, Scott, yes, yes, and yes. I've shared a dream with someone I once had a connection to. Since then, the damn fool keeps popping up in nearly all of my dreams, though mostly as a construct. I can't seem to get rid of him. =)

I've also, once, shared a dream with my 6-month old bearded dragon. She was laying on my chest and we both fell asleep. Guess that means my boobs are comfy at least. =P In the dream world, she was a lot bigger than she is in the waking world. She didn't speak much, and when she did it was in a language that I didn't understand. But she got her point across. I climbed on her back and we went for a run around the neighborhood. We scared all the dogs and when I woke up, all the dogs on the street were barking. =)

Oh my gosh, what an old thread, Seri as a newbie.

I've been having LDs for 12 years now. It's just in the last few months that I have really been trying to work at it. So far, only about 3 a week for me. =(

      Wow.

To those who can lucid dream pretty proficiently, would you mind sharing how that became so? Did it take much practice and diligence for you, or was it more of a natural talent for you?

I believe I am some ways from getting lucid, and I'm currently working on reality testing for dreamsigns. But being lucid every night surely is useful, isn't it? I am very motivated to see what it's like to attempt everything that I try now in my dreams, such as rehearsal dreams.
