      i was told that closing your eyes and spinning is a great way to actually keep yourself in the dream and make things more vivid. its supposed to be a good way to change your dreamscape as well.

      im gunna have to take your advice on it though. i wouldn't want to waste any lucid experience by closing my eyes

      thats what i tried at first to maintain lucidity but i would close my eyes and start to spin and would always wake up, thats why i started rubbing my hands together which works about 3/4 the time

      i haven't tried either of those techniques.

      my one lucid dream i had, upon realizing (it was a dild) i started to get really dizzy and i stumbled all over the room i was in. then i caught my balance and remember that screaming stuff like:

      "increase lucidty" or "lucidity times infinite" helps a lot

      i tried that, and it didn't seem to work, but after a few seconds, my dream was much more stable. then i went on to have a nice and "motivation" first lucid dream.

      Really? lol. When i close my eyes in a dream it never really wakes me up. As a matter of fact i close them really really tight nothing happens. I do it usually when i want something to happen.

      I didn't loose lucidity when I closed my eyes, at least the first time. It helped me create things,...

      I also close my eyes to try to create things. . . I'd like to stress the word TRY. . . it doesn't usually work cause I'm rubbish but it doesn't wake me up. Closing my eyes and shaking my head very hard (like a dog trying to get water out of its ears) wakes me up though.

      There's a cracking way of "stabilising the dream" which I first read about in a book:

      1) Find yourself in a lucid dream;

      2) Lie down in the dream, in the same position that your physical body is sleeping in;

      3) "Close your eyes" and "fall asleep" again.

      The upshot of this is that you will reawaken in the dream with much stronger lucidity, and you can do it over-and-over again with fantastic results.

      This is a so-called ancient Toltec technique that works brilliantly.

      Wow, that's pretty freaky. You could like, get stuck in an infinite dream cycle or something.

      I heard the same thing a few times about not closing my eyes, but for some people closing your eyes can be good, as it lets you have an FA, or possibly change dream scene, it really depends on the person.

      i heard that if u close your eyes and pretend to go to sleep again then youl wake up, that was actually a way to wake up if u wanted to get out of a lucid dream on this website i was looking at so i guess when yu close your eyes and go to sleep what will happen is waht you think will happen

      In a recent lucid dream I closed my eyes to imagine somthing infront of me, but that didnt work to well. It felt as if I was loosing my dream and was floating in some black void. I tried again and I got the same results, so I dont try to imagine stuff with my eyes closed any more. Also I had a lucid dream a few days ago and noticed every time I blinked I would get the same results as keeping my eyes closed. I dont know for sure though what will happen if I close my eyes and keep them closed for awhile. But it sure felt like I was going to wake up so I dont do it any more.

      Spinning? Yes. But closing your eyes awakes most people.

      TO make me wake up in a lucid, I shouted WAKE UP. WAKE UP.
      What a waste of a lucid though, just because I was a scared of zombies (even though I was lucid, I was still scared of what the zombies would look like since my dreams are nearly always very vivid.).

      I should have rubbed my hands with magic powder and sprayed myself with ZOMBIE _ BE_GONE

      Actually when I can feel I'm losing lucidity (everything starts to get blurry, perhaps because I'm about to wake up), I squint my eyes and focus on one object untill everything stabilizes again.

      Works wonders, try it.

      So far, for me, closing my eyes in a dream hasn't been a problem.
      I once was half way through a long lucid, so I closed my eyes and memorised the parts of the dream that went before, so as not to forget.
      I had another 5 minutes of dream time left after that.
      We grow great by dreams. All big men are dreamers. Some of us let these great dreams die, but others nourish and protect them; nurse them through bad days till they bring them to the sunshine and light which comes always to those who sincerely hope that their dreams will come true. - Woodrow Wilson

      Imaging my self spinning has helped make my LD more vivid but within seconds it causes me a hypnagogic jerk and wakes me up. D:
