I recently had my third LD and when i was in that LD i was looking around at my surrounding thinking about how awesome it is being concious while in a dream. And then i wanted to try stuff but i dont know how to do anything other than jump high and run fast. How do i fly or make things appear out of nowhere?, there werent even any DCs = /
It is impossible to live in the past, difficult to live in the present and a waste to live in the future.

Well, maybe you shouldnt start with summoning people/things yet. Instead start simple - try flying or telekinesis. I wont explain how to fly since there are tutorials. Summoning stuff may be hard/frustrating the first time you are doing that.

But telekinesis is pretty simple and teaches you quite a lot. Start by focusing on an item and try to move your hand and see the item follow. You may want to talk to the item in the beginning like "And now this item rises off the ground and floats to the left". Then go to the next phase - dont do as many hand motions and dont speak, instead use mental commands.

This, although simple teaches you some things about how your mind works. And once you know how your mind works during a LD you will be able to apply this knowledge to any kind of control you want to perform. Remember - there are many ways of controlling LDs. If one doesnt work try another one.
An example - there's a locked door in front of you. You may control the lock and open it, you may ask the door to open for you, you may pass through the door as a ghost, you may ring a bell, you may ask a DC to open the door for you. See how many ways of approaching a simple problem there are?

Ok i had another lucid dream just now and i became lucid and i remembered your post but first i focused on my surroundings and then i started spinning because i was in a small bathroom and i didnt want to be in there. Spinning increased the quality of the dream but i was still in the bathroom!, i spun some more and i was still in the same bathroom so im like "Forget it". I pick up some stuff in the medicine cabinet and i made sure i can move it, it did, so now i tried telekinesis on it by pointing at it and focusing on moving the object with my mind. It did not work, i kept thinking in my head how it was all a dream and i should be able to move it with my mind but it still ddint work. I just woke up. Is there anything else i could practice to improve what im able to do in my dreams?

Try "thinking outside the box." Approach the problem from a different direction. For example, once I was flying, but moving too slow, and just thinking about going faster didn't work. So I started making car noises, ("Vroom!") and it worked! I find flying is alot easier if I say "I am dreaming and therefore can fly."
Also, try jumping around like a kangaroo. :yumdumdoodledum: Eventually you will jump really high and fly!

Hello,
I think the saying learn to walk before you run applies here as Ev and Lunalight said, do the "simple" things like telekinesis but if your really stuck in a room, say a bathroom and you think your lucid enough try walking through a ghost, try to rationalise it by saying I'm a ghost or better still believe your super strong and just punch a hole in the wall. Your mind will constantly try to rationalise what you do and thats what makes it difficult to Lucid Dream, but its well worth it.
I live to dream because I dream to live.

That sounds like fun! I want to remember to do that.

So...Lunalight...what's your method for 2-3 LD's per week? Any good tips?

I don't recall ever having flown in a lucid dream. I have very little dream control - I perform actions I can while awake, but I haven't been able to control dream characters or change my environment so far. However, I have hovered in dreams before by kicking my legs in the air to stay aloft. The next time you're lucid and jumping into the air, try kicking your legs as if you're swimming to propel yourself forward without touching the floor or ground. If you're able to do this, please let me know. I haven't encountered anyone else who flies like this in dreams, and I'd like to know if someone who tries it finds it to be an effective way to fly while lucid dreaming.

I do lots of RCs every day, and basically, I've known about Lding for years. I dunno, nothing in particular helps me become lucid, I just sort of am hit with, "I am dreaming!" I try and look at little things (like deja vu) and think, "Could that really happen?" I'm probably not much help at all, sorry. All I can really say is keep at it and eventually you will get better.

I do the swimming thing alot. I sort of find it annoying though, because I move slow when I do. That is usually how I get high in the air before diving and then swooping up to gain speed.

I get the same thing, where I am just hit with the thought that I'm dreaming. Then I do some RC's altho I already know I am dreaming. I think doing RC's just helps keep your mind on it during the day, for me anyway. Thanks for advice.
