I was just looking at the Dream Control 1.0 guide and he was talking about how he closes his eyes to wake up. I actually have the opposite. I "open" my eyes even though in my dream my eyes are open. I kind of focus and then just wake-up. I hope this can help someone!

When i wanna wake up...it feels like i say, "wake up" and i do. i dont actually say it...but...thats the best i can do to explain it. i just kinda tell myself to do it.

I used to wake up by opening my eyes, and then trying to open them again. Its been a while though - after all, why would I want to try and wake up; if I knew I was dreaming I should go off and have lucid fun :-).

I'm not sure whether I woke up with my eyes open or not - when you do this, do you end up opening your eyes for real at the same time, or does the though of opening your eyes just a sort of shock you into waking up, leaving you awake but with eyes closed?

EDIT: PS, can you post a link to the Dream Control Guide? I don't want to sound demanding but you know how bad Search is; I'm sure I've seen the guide your referring to but I'm blowed if I can find it now. Linky please!

Interesting...I never knew there were so many techniques for this stuff. I just wake up, no big deal.

Shit I dont need a technique to wake up. I have to stay in a certain mindset the whole way through not to wake up. Once I start having too much fun or thinking too much the dream ends and if I even move a muscle im awake.

Yeah if you try to really open your eyes really wide in your dream sometimes it causes your eyes in Real Life to open. It's happened to me a few times. Easiest way to wake yourself up is to focus hella hard, or get to excited.

I did that on my very second LD

Same, I open my eyes. One time it failed though so I turned the earth on it's side and fell into the side of a tree. For me, opening my eyes while they are open just feels like opening my eyes. The dream becomes a thought and the thought fades to a memory. I have never had to open my eyes really wide or hard or something. Once I had to do it 3 times before it worked though. For me it has mostly been just like opening my eyes. When it didn't work, and I had to try it 3 times, I could actually feel my eyes opening in real life but I wasn't waking up. The reason I wanted to wake up was because I was in a nightmare and when it didn't work, I thought I was trapped.

      1 Second Wake-Up Technique

Jolt your head forward...has worked 100% of the time for me.

To be more specific, think of a nodding motion. But make sure you whip your head forward.
