      Remembering Lucid Goals

Can anyone post some tips on remembering goals/things planned to do when you become lucid?

Whenever I become lucid now, I don't remember any goals or things I want to try out, or even the fact that I want to remember - I just realize I'm dreaming and do stupid things without really valuing my experience. I just go spontaneous and random almost. lol

Anyone have the same problem? Thanks in advance.

This is simply a question of experience. The more you LD, the more you will start to remember what it is you set out to do. Don't worry or panic. It'll come in time.

Whenever I become lucid, I'm all like: So many things to do, so little time.

Then I usually just summon some hot chicks and uhh.... you know the rest

Other times I'll just mess around and do random tasks to test my dream control abilities. So far there isn't anything that I can't do

Write them down before you go to bed. Writing things implants them into your memory and it seems to stick there for longer.

Nija is on the track there, thats the best way i can remeber my goals is to write them down, either after you wake up so you can go through them during the day or to do it before you go to bed, it just helps yor mind retrack what you are doing. It all comes with practice.

Remind yourself to do whatever it is you want to do everytime you do a RC.

So for example, if you want to try spinning in your next LD. Remind yourself to spin everytime you do a RC. If you do a RC in your dream you will remember to spin because you will automatically remind yourself.

Yoast and Ninja have really good suggestions.

Another thing to do is make your first lucid goal to keep yourself lucid. When you can successfully do that, others can come easier.
This lucid dream has encountered a fatal error! Reboot? [Y/N]

This is going along with the writing down method, a more advanced and (actually scientifically proven) better way for it to stay in your memory longer is to write down the goals in CURSIVE.

Do each goal in cursive 3 times each and say it to yourself 3 times as well.

I was told to do this for class one time, it helps- give it a shot.

Fancy, curly writing. The kind with all the loops that join the letters.

during the day i'll randomly pretend i'm dreaming and my goals usually come to me within seconds of thinking "omg, i'm lucid". test it out every once in a while and you'll probobly remember them.

Well everyone tends to think fast and get all excited when they first become lucid, obviously, soooo... You have to stop where you are and just calm down, maybe do some Dreamspinning or something just to get to the point where your calm, that's all you should think about, then once your stable adn can walk around and think without feeling like your going to slip out begin to remember back on everything you wanted to do and you'll deffinately remember them.

      It's true, practice helps.

Usually, when I become lucid, I'm like: "Oh, I'm in control now, and it's a dream. Soo...um I'm just gonna walk out of here now...and pick that thing up..and yeah...I'll pick it up..." lol

Once I remembered my goals, but I got distracted very easily and wasn't thinking logically enough.

Agreed, It does come with practice. Not sure how long you have been able to LD for but when you get over the initial buzz of bein lucid and doing all the things that you have throught about doing when you could master this, then its easier to think about other things i.e tasks. I think if you had been trying to LD for some time, when you eventually get better at them, your trying out all the things you have been saying to yourself that you would do, like fly etc. I'm sure the more you think about it, and the more you disciplin yourself to try out specific tasks then you will learn to remember. If you perform RC's during the day as a way to become lucid, perhaps when you do this, also try performing the task you want to do. This way when you dream and perform an RC in your dream, you will remember that when you RC you also try make trees run or what ever it might be?

Last night I remember being in a random lucid dream then remember thinking to myself that Twoshadows' or at least I think it was her told me I should try out the task for the month. So I stopped and ran to look for trees, then the dream started fading so I tried to widen my eyes to stay alert but lost lucidity
