      self-consciousness and limited control :C

      Hello, I am fairly new to lucid dreaming and have so far been fairly successful. I have had an average of one a week for 3 weeks.

      I had my third "LD" this morning and found I had little control of the dream. For instance, if I closed my eyes I would wake up. I closed my eyes once to change the scene, and I also tried spinning. No such luck. Moreover, I was self-conscious! I knew for a fact that I was dreaming (waking up -in my bed- a few times), yet I was afraid to try to fly, or punch people who didn't believe I was dreaming, or screw random women (all ideas I considered). I have a feeling I'll get the feel for it. But does anybody have any suggestions that will better ensure that I stay dreaming or have better physical control? Also, does anybody know any sure-tell dream signs? I tried looking at my nose at one point but it was there as always.

      The eyes thing happens to me too, but always do a reality check after you wake up, cause sometimes you get FAs out of that!
      A very good reality check is to look at a clock, digital or not. Or just pinch your nose and try to breathe out. If you can do it, you're dreaming!
      Rubing your hands sometimes may help you to stay in the dream. Or just keep your eyes open, which is what I do. Getting over excited may wake you up too. Whenever you see you're getting too excited about something take a deep breath. I find this helps me calm down, just like in waking life.

      And don't be afraid to do stuff in your lucids. If you can float, you're dreaming, so just float before you fly. If a woman accepts to have sex with you right away, you're surely dreaming!

      haha, but thanks! I think I'll probably get used to enjoying the freedom with time..

      I'll try the clock thing and the hand rubbing next time, hopefully tonight!
