The eyes thing happens to me too, but always do a reality check after you wake up, cause sometimes you get FAs out of that!
A very good reality check is to look at a clock, digital or not. Or just pinch your nose and try to breathe out. If you can do it, you're dreaming!
Rubing your hands sometimes may help you to stay in the dream. Or just keep your eyes open, which is what I do. Getting over excited may wake you up too. Whenever you see you're getting too excited about something take a deep breath. I find this helps me calm down, just like in waking life.
And don't be afraid to do stuff in your lucids. If you can float, you're dreaming, so just float before you fly. If a woman accepts to have sex with you right away, you're surely dreaming!
