      Not waking up.

I have never tried purposely to have a lucid dream before. It just happens for me. All my life I have had lucid dreams, although until about a year ago I never heard the term before.

Anyway, I read one some place here, you can appearantly do things like "rubbing your hands" or "spinning" in your dream to stay asleep. But I have a tendency to wake up shortly after gaining control of my dream. Occaisonally I have dreams where I don't realize i'm dreaming, I simply realize that I have dominion of the world around me etc. During these types of dreams I have very rarely been awaken prematurely.

Oh well, I just wanted to know if anyone has a link, or some info, on how to stay asleep longer.

As of the moment I have only three recourses:
      1. rub your hands
      2. spin.
      3. Try to control everything using only thought, vs. trying to talk, or walk or run. (like think to myself, run, vs. actually trying to run.)

Those are ways to Increase Vividness and Lucidity not necessarily ways to increase the length of a dream although they may make it last a bit longer, but the length of your dream is dependent on the length of your REM period so if you increase the length of your REM period you increase the length of your dream.

Try to focus on a dream object and pay attention to its detail and color.

Stare at something in your dream and youll stay in it. Everything has probably gone away by now though if you lost it enoph to have to do that, so try getting a new place.

A good way to stay asleep longer is to completely knacker yourself out, try not sleeping for a day or two, may sound extremem but you'll sleep like a baby if you try that, mind you if your looking for longer dreams you cannot actually physically lengthen the dreams but if you sleep for longer you are more likely to have longer REM periods thus allowing you to have longer dreams.

When I become lucid I try to relax and calm straight away, then I set to work fixing the dream perspective as it usually starts blurry, in third person or missing sound. I change these by shouting INCREASE DETAIL 1000%! Or by spinning in place. When this is done I usually have an anchor to the dream.

Ever since you said this i've been doing that when I have a lucid dream. I shout something like, Clarity 1000% lol. It makes everything super detailed for about 5 seconds, but then goes back to normal after that =( quite depressing.

That can be very dangerous. If your body doesn't go through REM frequently enough, it can have serious repercussions on your body. Serious.

i always have the same problem. There are times i'll suddenly realize i'm dreaming, but almost right after i wake up. It's almost like a part of me does it on purpose, to prove that i can or something. i'll have to try the suggestions on this thread next time it happens.

I dunno what my problem is, I have had a few lucid dreams that were very very long and detailed...but lately I haven't had long ones.
