      Interesting theory of mine.

Not sure if this is a technique used, but I'll say it anyway. If you 'day dream' and try and imagine yourself jumping up and landing back on your feet, your mind tries to make it not happen. So for example, you will try to land on your feet but actually land on your side.
Because your mind knows you're trying to land on your feet, the mind tries not to do that.

      It's difficult to explain!

So, if you can try and control your mind, and visualise somebody jumping and landing on their feet again, then in dreams you may have more control over what's happening in a dream

      Just a thought.

I can see what you're getting at. I think being able to control your day dreams is indeed a worthy practice for controlling your dreams. As for the landing on your feet thing, try concentrating on an invisible line which runs down your centre and plant that line, as well as your feet onto the ground. Or more so, just concentrate on remaining vertical- it seems that if your concentration is clear enough, your imagination can't interfere with your conscious intentions.

I used to have tons of daydreams in which I'd lift something and it would snap back to its original place.
