The key to good control is practice. When I first started Lucid Dreaming, I couldn't control much either. Start with small things, such as Levitating an Object, or trying to fly. Or, if you can't keep the dream, work on Stabalizing Techniques first.
Just start small. Steady Breathing when you realize its a dream, examining the scene. Learn to tell when your about to wake up, and practice various things (dream spinning, going to sleep in your dreams to start a False Awakening, ect.) to help stabalize the dream again.
The biggest key to having control is to BELIEVE that whatever your trying to do, will work. If you want it to work, but don't really believe it, then it probably won't. You have to really know that its possible to do whatever, and expect it to happen.
