Thread: General Survey: What Superpower Do You Use?

As part of a general survey I am making for the purpose of collecting a rough idea of certain topics dream-related, I have created this thread to determine what is the most often-used superpower in an LD. I don't want a long list of powers, just one or two powers that you use the most. The power could be anything that is well-known as a superpower, but do not make it very specific.

Good example: Telekinesis.

Bad example: Summoning Jessica Alba so I can do dirty stuff to her.


And...begin.

Telekinesis (primarily for flying, but also some general use)
Electrokinesis (shooting lighting from my hands)

Mostly telekinesis, but I like reverse time too. Reverse time requires a good amount of dream control for me though, so I don't use it as often as telekinesis. Not that telekinesis is fail proof.

Oh and walking through solid objects, if you can call that a power.

Summoning, dream agility and strength mostly. Sometimes I try and do magic like lightning strikes, fireballs and stuff.

Other than that I just like to use all kind of things near me and see how they work.

Most used skill is flying, in conjunction with super speed and agility. When a more offensive ability is in need, I'll go for telekinesis or electrokinesis.

Flying, walking through walls, teleportation, and I've shot fireballs at people a few times. I also had a few LDs where I could breathe underwater.

Telekinesis is my strongest power too, I end up using it in most of my lucid dreams, and a lot of non-lucid ones too. My next-strongest is phasing through solid objects, which I also do frequently in dreams. Every other superpower I either don't use frequently, or can't use with much success.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but for the most part I'm seeing flight and telekinesis as the most used powers. Regardless of what else you use, most of you either use telekinesis or fly as well, but alot of you use both.

Is it that they are both so amazing yet easy-to-use powers? By the way, I'm going to leave this survey running indefinitely, so don't mind this post. It's just here to point out the obvious.

Say what you want, but the Jessica Alba thing is most useful to me xP

I use telekinesis a lot because it can be used for basically everything, and it's not hard to use in lucid dreams.

Flying is similarly easy to do, and everyone wants to fly. Additionally, it's the best way of getting from place to place besides teleporting, and teleporting is difficult to use.

I also transform a lot, because I don't have much trouble doing it and it's an amazing feeling.

So I guess that yes, the main reason is that they're easy to use. And fun.

I usually equip my orgasmoray and shoot people with it causing them to have powerful orgasms. Best way to disarm an aggressive assailant.

only had 5 LD so far in 20 years. in those AWSOME dreams my powers were:

Flying
Teleportation
superspeed/strength
immunity to bodily damage

With me it's more super jump than real flying

- Telekinesis, used for levitation/flying as well, I use it a lot.
- Walking through walls, I also use this one a lot.
- Super speed, I use it more for exploration than anything.
- Energy blasting, one of my favorites.
- Transformation, totally awesome.

Those are the main ones.

When I want to level a town, I always transformed into a Balrog.

Flying (looooooove to fly)
Super Speed (i can run faster then trains)
Lightning (i can shoot lightning out of my hands, a DC showed me this)
Brutal Rampage (A huge rage takes over me, i can beat the hell out of a room full of people, 20 people is nothing)
I can yell REALY loud

If one was somewhere, there saw something, but did not study it..
Then one can enter that "memory" as a dreamscape, and even meet oneself, as one could be a "thirdparty" - free moving entity.. Then one could study the details.. Wake up without forgetting about it, and integrate it back in to this reality..

The possibilities are endless though, this is just a small crude example.

I've become pretty good at flying, and I tend to teleport everywhere. Probably the most useful to me
