Well i hear how alot of you have a problem flying in your dreams once you become lucid, one way that i came up with while reading a thing about what things in your dream mean is to, first summon some one you have a sexual fantasy about. now when they appear just try to begin flying, when i tried this last night it worked wonderfully, try it and tell me what happens. |

Hahah, that's a good idea, but SecondLife helped me fly in my dreams... |
I have huge troubles flying. I once became lucid in a dream as I was flying only to instantly loose my ability to fly. I kept trying to fly by jumping into the air and it never worked. Finally I got so upset I woke up. |
I think the problem is when I am in a dream and become lucid, I want to start to fly and I want it now. This is not the way to fly, you just have to take off like it was an everyday occurrance. Once you try and fly too hard, it likely wont happen... |

Ive never actually flown in a lucid dream but i did fly a car once like in Vice City (use one of the action replay codes here, also wrks on gameshark v1 and v2 ps2 of course www.thegfcc.com) I also flew on some kinda really weird skateboard... kinda confusing lol. I think i remember falling once and like smacking my face on ground |

I haven't flown in a LD but I fly in my non-lucid dreams quite often. I hope it'd be as easy in a LD like in a non-lucid dream. |
I just think myself as weightless and it works fine. |
Sometimes I have problems flying - usually when I'm too vivid. |
I fly just as well in vivid dreams. I just really put my mind to it. Though I have had times where I couldn't fly very well or at all. |
Thats kind of crazy man...i mean if you have a hard on...and a naked woman infront of you that you fantasize about...uh...i don't think flying will be on your mind...maybe a different kind of flight... |

In my most recent LD I was in an ocean and became lucid. I just said to myself "I can fly" and I went into the air. But then I plunged down again into the water. I tried it one more time, and I was able to fly to shore. However, my destination - the place I was flying to, was beyond my control. |
I have flown in probably the majority of my lucid dreams. Part of the reason for that is that flying is my main cue for knowing that I am dreaming. I imagine flying and try to will myself to float into the air often in my waking state, so when I float or fly in a dream as a result, I become lucid. It especially helps to do this when I am about to go to sleep. |
You are dreaming right now.
Hi, this is my first time on the forums. But yes, I've been lucid a number of times since I began trying early this year and my dream control has gotten stronger, but I still have a problem trying to fly. The first time I tried to fly, I could get two stories off the ground but for some reason i needed to breathe out and everytime i breathed out in my dream, i would sink and when i breathed in, i would go up again, but because of this, i could not get any higher than two stories. Second instance, i was on a horse and I tried to turn the horse into a flying horse but my flying horse could just fly two stories high. Hopefully I'll be able to go higher next time. |

hey, welcome. |

even if there is physics involved you just create a force to counteract gravity this force is obviously directed downwards against gravity and to move around you direct a force in the opposite direction to where you want to move... with practice you can become rather precise 8) |
If you take gravity for granted then you will not know what to oppose. When I fly I pay attention to opposition to the gravitational field around my body as if I fly in a pocket of energy. It also takes exact confidence, just think of intention and action being a single extension of the self. Your possibility is only limited by your imagination. |

I have a fairly lengthy post discussing various ways to get yourself flying in an LD. If your idea's not mentioned, feel free to add your comments. |
