      Full lucidity with controlling issues?

For some reason everynight when I fall asleep I have lucid dreams, honest here I didn't know what it meant for a long time. When I start to dream I automatically know I'm dreaming because I purposly make myself aware to the fact that I've already fallen asleep.

Anyway, Flying is one of my dream staples. I do it everynight and thats just how I get to point A to point B. It seems natural, but for some reason I have to literally flap my arms like wings in order to do so and I find myself becoming actually tired and for some reason I can't get very high. Maybe the height of the roof of a large house and thats it. I'm kaput.

Does this happen to most people when flying and does anyone have any tips they could give me on it?

It's a confidence thing. You have to really accept that it's your dream world, and you can do anything.. certainly fly higher. So, next time you're lucid, try saying things outloud like, "I am your creator, bow down to me, mwahaha! I'll fly as high as I want, thankyouverymuch." You get the point.

Sounds like you won't have any problems with flying after a little practice, with your natural ability to become lucid. Scwigglie gives good advice, just re-enforce your control over your subconscious.

Try out some different techniques for flying besides just flapping your arms too. My favourite is having an aura surround and lift me. Something solid like a glass panel would do also.

With practice your flying ability will increase, but the "roof" thing wont be so easy to get rid of
I have it for myself - If I raise above the roofline, there's no real town below, more like a cloned buildings and stuff, really weird.

My last experience with flying above rooftops ended in exteremely bizzare psychedelic-like scenery

Well I doubt your mind has the ability to create hundreds of unique buildings, you just wouldn't be able to sustain such an image.
