      An unusual scene change method

I'll put this under dream control, since I've only experienced this once and what I'm really asking here is whether anyone has leveraged this idea before ...

Two nights ago, I had a completely unique and extraordinary experience. I became lucid via a DILD, and made my way to a wall which I usually use as a space/time portal. I have had a good deal of luck visualizing a desired scene I wish to be in (on the other side of the wall) and pushing myself into and through the wall to get there.

I found that technique somewhat by accident - sometimes my most profound discoveries are that way.

Anyhow, I'm kneeling in front of the wall with my hands on it, trying to dematerialize the wall. I look up. A bright light forms. It then gets dark and I see a scene. It's a number of people above me. My perception of forward changes from ahead of me to above me (effectively it shifts 90 degrees). I get pulled into this scene. I find myself floating, without form, through a building getting sucked deeper and deeper into it. There are a number of people sleeping on the floor. I think to myself, "this is sort of like a WILD - I should step into the scene". This works brilliantly. I am now fully immersed in the scene in 3-D form.

Has anyone ever used a method like this to change the scene they were in?

One interpretation would be that I woke shortly, and then re-entered a dream via a WILD. I don't think that's what happened.

Maybe the key was kneeling and focusing my mental energy above me to shift my perception of direction?

I will experiment with this some and report back. I usually get a sense right away if a phenomenon will be reproducible for me, and I think this one will be.
