      I need major help!

First problem that I have is I rarely have dreams.
(we all have about 4 dreams a night) --- I just don't remember it.

I do have short dreams during a nap. (I know how this works)

The thing is when I go to bed at night, I want to have a dream. A dream that I want, and that I can control

I think about the dream and fall asleep but nothing happens.

      (It's not a wetdream)

      any suggestions?

You should focus on your dream recall first. You can try the easy way out by taking B complex pills during the daytime not just before sleep or you may have difficulty falling asleep. Follow the instructed dose on the bottle not more than is recomended. Your dream recall should improve over time of taking the pills.

As for the napping dreams, from the time you wake up in the morning to the time you take a nap, try to do some reality checks, really plan out the procedure from doing the reality check(what check to use) to executing the task. Basically FOCUS on the reality checks than on the dream that you want. This is because your mind already knows what to do when you do become lucid. Just needs a trigger/RC to retrieve that memory. That is the way my LDs work for me anyways.... Hope this helps.

It's hard to have a lucid dream if you're not even recalling your non-lucids, and even harder to actually remember that you had the lucid dream once you've woken up.

Are you keeping a dream journal? If not, start right now. You'd be surprised how many dreams you actually are remembering, if you make sure to write them down the moment that you wake up.

Keeping a DJ will also let you read through, get more in touch with your dream state, recognize dream signs, and work out appropriate reality checks.

Also you said that you dream during naps... if I were you I would set some time aside to nap and make sure to diligently record every dream.
