Been a lucid dreamer for years but new to this.

I've been doing Lucid Dreaming/Dream control for years,
but recently found out what the name of it was.
It started a few years back, and I was amazed when i read your articles
on how correct it really was.

What happens in my dreams is,
I'm dreaming then I stare down at both my hands,
palms up and i criss-cross then two times,
like a signal saying, Ok I'm here now, I know I'm sleeping.

And then after that, I can control what I believe you called
"dream spinning". I can change the scenario and the weather.
I can control what I say and my actions but If I try too
hard on some things, then I wake up because I think
      I'm trying to hard.

I can feel it though, when I'm waking up,
it's like a vortex kind of feeling that It's sucking me in,
but I'm aware that I'm laying on the couch but it's
kind of like being outside my mind, now that I think of it.

I didn't realize this was rare until talking to someone
of my friends, and they found it truly amazing.

I'd like to say I've spoken with god, but I don't
because then people will just think I'm some looney.
People can't be special anymore, everyone's just crazy
and people arn't ready to understand what they can't control.

Hmm, I have had dreams of flying and learning to fly in heaven,
but I've never had a lucid dream of being able to fly on my will power.
However, someone told me that You can't read in your dreams,
      or read correctly?

is that true, because just last night,
I was in a lucid dream, I was at a movie theater and
I wanted to sneak into a movie, I mean in real life,
I'd never do this but I knew it was a dream,
so I was reading the titles of the movie boards.

it's a good feeling, lucid dreaming, it's like doing things
that you would never imagine doing in person.
Even if they arn't bad, it's like a huge boost of confidence,
knowing you will wake up to the real world.

but sometimes I can't figure out which is better,
the dream world of the real world.

I can't say I've done anything very exciting with lucid dreaming,
most extreme is just changing the weather at my will
and I once made my father appear before my eyes.
This was all in one dream one of the most lucid I've ever had.
I woke up and I could even smell the rain and I could see all the lights,
it was a very very vivid dream, so vivid it has become a memorie
      of mine now.

I can usually remember most of my dreams, every little detail
of where a cup was sitting.

I'd like to learn more about this,
I'm only 16 and I live in California.
I don't have many people who know about this kind of stuff.

      So please,
if you could share some more good knowledge that'd be awesome.
      Thank you guys,
      jorge.

Well, what exactly do you need to know? There are some awesome tutorials (see the Tutorials forum) and on the main page, www.dreamviews.com there is some great information about R.E.M cycles, dream signs, reality checks, and the whole bunch. Also, don't be afraid to message me or other members if you need help!

      Happy lucids!

To be starting so young, you are truly gifted... and lucky. I have been 'truly' lucid dreaming for a few months now. For me it started with learning to fly in my dreams a few years ago... I don't know why I even tried in the dream that initiated it. Now the flying is my que to realize I am dreaming so I can take some control over my dream. The method I used to learn to fly is rather odd. I statted pumping my feet against the ground, kind like stomping. There would be air pressure that would gather under my feet lifting me off the ground a degree with every step. Like stepping up into the air, or a bird flapping its wings. Flying has been the most rewarding part for me... now years later it is just a given that I can fly in my dreams with the use of will. So learning to fly would be something I would recomend, it is indiscribable. There should be posts here with others methods for learning to fly. I just figured I would share mine... it was the one that came to me naturally. But I will warn you once you acchieve that initial lift off learning to manuver can be difficult. I have had dreams where I flew up and up and could not stop... I saw myself looking back on the earth. Quite intimidating and scary... (interpreted this means I had no control over my waking life) but control should come with time. If you can learn how, this really is a wonderful way to realize you are dreaming so you can take control of your dreams.

Smile I know what you mean

I didnt know it was called Lucid dreaming till now..or dream spinning...or yeah.. but i have controlled my dreams. For such a long time now. Thats why i love dreaming so much because i know i can control it. If you want something to happen, you just have to want it really bad. But dont try too hard because it might wake you up. But just imagine it because no matter what kind of dream your in its still YOUR dream and YOUR mind, so YOU can control it.

      ditto on gemmy

flying used to be difficult if i didn't summon wings to my shoulders but then someone here told me to try to visualize where i wanted to go then just visualize
the place and you as magnets and you would be pulled to the place.to fly just for fun i use wings because i like the feel of wings.lucid dreaming isn't as rare as it would seem, a lot of people can do it they just don't know what it is or called.i have had dreams of heaven and hell but i never speak of them..and whoever told you that you can't read correctly in dreams is wrong because i have read as much as half a book in a couple dreams.
just explore the forum and you should be well on your way to as much knowledge on lucid dreams as you could want.
