false awakening problems - any help would be great

Okay i am pretty new to LD'ing, I have only had 2 LD's and in both i ended up in my bed during the dream. Half of me knows im still dreaming but the other half thinks im awake. Ill go into detail about my first LD to show what I mean...

I was at school but I noticed that it didnt look like it did usually so i did a RC. I looked at my hand and focused on having more and less fingers, and it was working!!! So i started looking around but everything was getting fuzzy. I look in my hand and I have a pair of glasses in them. As I go to put the glasses on, i blink.. When I open my eyes again im back in my bedroom. So again im torn on whether im still dreaming or not but i feel like if i move i will wake up for sure. after sitting there and thinking what to do, i decided to roll over and look at the clock for a RC. As soon as i rolled over, I felt myself wake up and I was actually rolling over. I opened my eyes and looked at the clock and knew that I had left the dream-world.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what i should have done during any part of the dream??

I keep thinking that I shouldnt have put the glasses on, it was an LD so I shouldve been able to see better by just focusing on seeing more clearly

You're right about the glasses. In lucid dreams, objects become more clear the longer you stare at them. But don't stare too long, as that will cause the rest of the world to disappear.

As for the rest, it sounds like you avoided the biggest mistake people make, which is failing to recognize a false awakening. Just remember that if the dream becomes unstable you can try touching things or rubbing your hands together or spinning.

I don't think it was so much the glasses, if a dream hands me glasses I am most certainly going to see what it is my subconscious wants me to see, even if that somehow ends the dream. It might be worth it all on its own to see what you can see through the lenses!

Your experience actually sounds very typical and normal, to me! Getting fuzzy sight sounds like the beginning of the loss of your vision, which is usually the first thing that happens when you are waking up from a lucid dream. You should have ignored the glasses (I know, I'm contradicting myself, above I was just speaking of dream glasses in general, obviously those appeared because your cure for fuzzy vision is glasses and that is what you first thought of) and instead focused on things to stabilize your vision and the dream. Speaking aloud, touching, smelling, tasting, hearing, and viewing things will help stabilize a dream and keep you in it. You can even whistle and do a combo of paying attention to making sound, listening to a sound, and RCing at the same time since for some reason you aren't supposed to be able to whistle. Read up on the forums about how to prolong lucid dreams, and how to stabilize dreams.

It is common to find yourself in a false awakening right after you "wake up" from a lucid. Keep this in mind too, and never be afraid to do a reality check. Also, it sounds like you spent quite a bit of time lying in your bed, which probably had your body focusing on the sensation of lying in your bed, and woke it up. Try to immediately do a RC when you "wake up", especially because if it is a FA you may just lose lucidity if you stop concentrating.

Definitely, you have to learn for yourself to do RCs every time you wake up! After a few of those experiences you realize you just can't trust reality anymore
Now before I tell my mom my dreams in the morning, I always ask if I've already told her And sometimes she says something crazy that clues me in that I'm actually dreaming

I had a false awakening this morning. I somehow realised I was dreaming, but as soon as that happened, I woke up, but falsely. Then a few seconds later I actually woke up and then realised my mistake... it just seemed soo real.
