How to change location in the dream

I want to know if there is some really good tip for changing location in a dream. If I for example want to get into my school, how should I do? The obvious one is to picture the location in my mind and _expecting_ me to teleport there. But I've never actually succeeded with that :/. Maybe I need to concentrate/train more?

I think the most difficult thing for me is to picture a detailed version in my mind. I can concentrate in my mind "Around the next corner, there will be a human", and then around the cornet, there is a human, but it's extremely hard for me to picture just _THAT_ person. U know what I mean? ^^

Any good tips appreciated! Should I close my eyes when changing enviroment?

Okay, I've never done these, but I know what I'm talking about.
You've got a couple of options here:
      1) Use Your Imagination!
      Close your eyes and visualize...
      2)Spin, Spin, Spin---
Close your eyes and spin around. Again, visualize.
      3)Around the Corner..
      yada yada yada
      4) Fly....
      5) Ride a Vehicle
I dunno if that works though.
      Hope I helped!

Thx pinkcheese, but to be honest, I already knew like all of those :/. Exept for the flying/veichle part, I guess I can test that..

I guess there aren't much more things to do, I think I just need to train to concentrate better when visualising stuff :F.

Verbal commands are good. A lot of your mind is sleeping, even in lucid dreams. So, yelling something out will make the link between the word and the picture and the intention. Just keep saying something like "school, school, school." Besides, why school? Do you wanna bomb it??

At least for me, just saying the name, or constantly talking about the thing I wanna experience works.

AirRick101 thx a lot m8, I totally forgot about verbal commands! I will definatly try that in my next LD . Strange I didn't come up with this myself, cuz I always use verbal commands for making things clearer in the dream.. u know "RISE LUCIDITY!", "GOGO SHARPNESS!" .

About bombing the school, no not really, but now when u mention it.. . Nah, that was actually just an example, but the school is also a very good place for meeting folks you know .

      Wieee..!

what ive done many times now and found out to work every single time now is to just draw out a door in the space infront of you like you cut the reality your in. I find this naturaly with my finger, and then i just open the door... the times ive done this ive met a little black gap and then a door inside that cut-out-reality-door and ive gone trough that one... and then ive comed to my location.
If this not work just do something, anything that feels natural to shift a location.
To find the neareast door could be the simplest, and to believe that the location you seek is behind that door.

I suggest you make a "things to do while lucid" list if you dont already have one. Keep it in your dream journal or something. Great to note down things you want to do and that you can try out when you maybe dont have anything to do or just want to experiment. Its great inspiration to.

i have the same problem. it's hard for me to imagine in detail in my dreams. for example, i can never make out the faces of people i talk to. i know who is with me, but i dont' see them clearly, and this doesn't seem strange to me in my dreams. last night i successfully did dream spinning, but woke up and can't remember what happened after that, , lol.
...we barely have time to react, let alone to rehearse, and i don't think i'm any better than you, but i don't think i'm any worse...~anni

I think this is enough, to just have the feel of who was around you in the dream. To remember details in a dream depends on how much you want to know, about yourself. I usaly just note down the overall seting in a dream, if it was anything that pointet out i note this to. About details you could say that everything that is presented in a dream is created by yourself, everything from just a dust particle on the dream floor to a wrinckle in another DC's face. And if your lucid and go into every detail i bet you will discover whole new meanings you didnt pick up in the dream. But in a regular dream you remember upon awakening i think its enough to just try to remember the dream first of all... then if you want you can try hard to remember details on walls around lets say a room you was in. This is a good recall excersice to.

For me I jsut spin around and get from one location to another saying outloud where I want to go. One day I transported one of my "dream people" to disneyland. A little boy. I shouldn't have done that though. I seem to quickly forget to stay focused and stop following meaningless storylines.

      i've always done dream spinning

Dream Spinning has always worked for me, but when i didnt know about dream spinning, i would just to the door trick. I first tried it when i was about 11 or 12. I think since kids have more vivid imaginations then adults, they tend to be able to controll environments easier.

DREAM SPINNING, DREAM SPINNING, DREAM SPINNING, oh... and practice. I swear by those four things for location controll!!!!

Go to sleep in your dream. When you wake up back into the dream, you will of woke up where you wanted to be.

I dream spinned twice in my dream last night, once to get to Disneyland (for some kid i didn't know) and the second time so the fabric of the dream to stay together, but I quickly lost track of my environments and ended up on a subway. I woke up as the doors closed.

A good way to go where you want is to think about where you
want to go and expect it to work. Then open your "dream eyes"
and you will be in the vivid environment of your choice.
Be careful not to actually wake up, but this technique
works better for me then anything else I have tried, including spinning.

So far I have found these waye to change the dream scenery:

1- find a door, close it and imagine the location/person to appear behind it. Open the door and if your will is strong enough this should appear behind those doors
2- mirrors are also a good passsage to other sceneries
3- walking through walls (requres strong will in my experience). Put your fingers on any wall you see. Try to pierce through. As your fingers go through the wall, tear the wall apart (the wall should feel very soft once you pierce) and the new scenery will appear behind it....

I tried climbing through a mirror to hopefully end up somehwere else (I wasn't thinking of a specific destination, just thinking my mind would surprise me or something ), I just ended up in the same room I was in, it wasn't even reversed either

I havent ever tried spinning, i usually just expect something (want something) to appear, and then walk around a corner or open a door, and its there. of course, sometimes it doesnt appear as expected lol, thats another story.... experts say that spinning helps because you are losing your other senses in the dream but your sense of balence remains, and then when you stop all your other senses come back and it like "refreshes" the dream

anyway! this may be something like the placebo effect, because i did some backflips in my dream, and i never had a change in scenery. then again, i wasnt wanting a new scene....
