      Controlling and Gaining Lucid Dreams

I'm very new to lucid dreaming, I've had them before but most of them were foggy and it felt as if I weren't controlling the dream, mainly because I was in 3rd Person in those dreams. It has been months since I had one and earlier I had one, it was one of those types where you wake up early, for me it was 6:00 but I didn't wake up early on purpose, and then a few hours later I went back to sleep and that's when the dreams hit me.

I had semi-control in the dreams, I was actually able to move my hands but for some reason I only had a small grip of control and when ever I tried doing things like approaching people in my dreams (they actually had faces) my lucid dream started to black out but I was able to gain control of it after a lot of focus and then I focused more and the dream that was dark and gritty became lush and green but that was only till I had another black out. Then I decided I'd do something more basic and just imagined me flying and so it actually happened, the feeling was such a rush. The flying lasted a long while until the course of the dream started to take place again, which I've had the same dream before minus the flying and lucidity and then I pushed my luck to many times and go outside of the bounds of the dream I tried struggling to stay asleep but I awoke. I tried going back in to lucidity by closing my eyes and picturing the dream, which I did earlier but I didn't work again.

Anyways, I would love to learn how to gain Lucid Dreams more often, and I guess the easiest way to control them is to get them more often and gain practice.

      Any help would be appreciated.

Well this is a pretty broad subject and there is a lot of information on this site about it. I would swing over to the tutorial section and look for information on reality checks, dream journals, and induction techniques. Also, for the clarity issues, there's a lot of techniques used to restore it. The most widely used are probably dream spinning (spin around in the dream, then when you stop everything is more clear), hand rubbing (self-explanatory
), and yelling, "Increase clarity!" These are proven techniques that really do work.

Yep, that's true Just keep at it.

Hey Nacht, welcome to DV Yup, you're right, the best way to control dreams it to have experience and just the understanding and knowledge that, because you are dreaming, anything is possible, and that because you are dreaming and nothing around you is real, there is no reason for any laws or rules to apply, so that you can break things like gravity and change the way matter works.

Looks like you've already found the Dream Control forum, which is good if you have questions on specific methods of dream control (like you're having trouble summoning things or other particulars). Just try to check and see if anyone has asked a question before you do, you'll find a lot of older threads with good information.

      Thanks.
I've recently was able to remember all or at least most of them because I said to my subconscious to try to remember them and I guess that worked, sadly though the only lucid dream I had was very abrupt and didn't last long, it was some strange type of lucid dreams I've had, so far I've had two of them the first one I was in a never ending hallway with only a clock, that was when I first got into Lucid Dreams a while back and just read wikipedia on some reality checks by making a habit of checking the time of a clock.
This one I was in a highway fully aware of my lucidity and it was the first dream I had and I saw someone standing next to me so I tried walking up to the person but I was kicked out of my dream. I guess social interactions aren't going to happen till later down the road.

Sorry about not searching but I was just a bit too eager on my new found interest.

About social interactions: The first thing you want to ask a DC is "Are you in a dream?". This is a good assessment on your dream control/awareness. If your DC(s) say(s) yes, you are well along your way to good dream control. You must recognize that EVERYTHING in your dream is controlled by you. When the DC(s) are aware that they are in a dream, it means that you are nearly completely aware that you are in a dream. Try it.

p.s.: if they say no, ask them to perform a reality check. This will trick your subconscious into a deeper dream awareness and get them to say "Yes".

      hope this helps,
      tech
