What is your current living situation? I mean, when you say 'share a room' do you mean with a sibling and you're both under 18, or a college roommate, or a regular roommate, or what?
Undoubtedly you are getting some form of sleep or this situation would have gotten very serious as soon as it existed. If you can't change the situation, then I'd recommend focusing on DILD methods during the day, so that when you do manage to fall asleep you can become lucid in your dreams.
OR, if the tv is usually left on the same channel, try for an EILD. Notice which commercials are frequent on that channel, and learn to reality check to them so that maybe if you hear them while asleep, you'll RC and become lucid. Also a DILD technique, but in this case more specifically suited to your dilemma.
