      What do you do

This week i was successful at dreaming about who and what i want to dream about. I was focused and really knew what i wanted to dream about, one of the things that i did was say to myself in my head, i want to dream about this or that. This or that meaning, what i want to dream about, and i made sure i was tense about it, in other words focused on really knowing what i wanted to dream about. I guess in other words it was sort of like a mantra, but kind of different, different in the sense that, i didn't have to repeat it lots of times in order for it to work, i think focus is the key in this instance, really knowing what you want to dream about. I can't stress that enough, i think i only did it at least once this week and it work, i'm going to try again tonight and post it sometime soon and tell you if it worked. So, i have to ask, what do you do to dream about what you want to? I know this topic has been discused before, but i think this post is kind of different just with a similar topic? Oh yeah, when i did dream about what i wanted to which was yesterday, it was definitely lucid, because i was fully aware that i was dreaming, it was about a five minute or so dream but it seemed kind of long, i even did a the hand rubbing thing for a few seconds which should have been longer but, a couple of minutes after that the dream ended.

What you're doing sounds like autosuggestion to me. That's basically what I do when I want to dream about a particular thing. I also watch movies or read books about the subject, and visualize what the dream might be like as I am falling asleep. Sometimes, if I find myself awake during the night, I can even use a form of self-hypnosis.

I've been trying to mild for months but i just can't do it because of my poor visualization skills, but you all are right, i guess it really is auto suggestion. Also, there was another thread about talking to your subconscious, and what i've been doing lately works sometimes. I would ask or beg my subconscious to make me dream about whatever i wanted to, sometimes it works.

one thing ive found is its best if you "wear the pants" in the relationship between your unconscious and conscious selves.. even if you have no idea if you are. thinking that you might not have control over whether or not you can have lucid dreams will not help i promise you that.

So true. I feel like most of my success has relied solely on confidence. Ofcourse, a little practice too.
