      Developing Skills

I was wondering if anybody has had the luxury of developing skills in their LDs.
If you've read S. Laberges book "Exploring the world of Lucid Dreaming" he talks about this. I intend to, once I'm LDing enough, practice the instruments that I play. Perhaps asking a dream teacher(Somebody revered for fun, in actuality my subconcious) for guidance. I am a firm believer that hamans are capable of much more than they credit themselves.

      I wish!

If that's true--if you really can develop skills in lucid dreams--my first session would be a lesson in lucid dreaming. I'd walk in the "Lucid Dream like an Expert 101" room and just learn. Unfortunately, I can't actually lucid dream yet... which obviously sort of screws up my idea.

Sorry I didn't answer your question, but, damn, has anyone ever tried becoming better at lucid dreaming in a lucid dream?

      Yeah, I'm afraid that's a Catch-22.

I'm not so sure you can learn about things that are purely mental, like how to achieve lucidity better. You might be able to condition yourself for that, though, by talking to your subconscios or using one of many other techniques.

As for practicing physical activities, I would love to have that chance. I had one non-lucid dream where I was doing a perfect manual on my bike (wheelie, but without pedaling), but in real life, I still have trouble doing them. Granted, that wasn't really practice, and the physics were quite obviously in my favor. When I can remain lucid for long enough to try stuff like that, I'll definitely be trying things like that. Drawing ought to be especially interesting, since we're more in touch with out creative side in dreams, and it might be easier to understand a concept spatially.
Well life is short, so love the one ya' got, 'cause you might get run over or you might get shot.

Might be of some interest.... just read some books on visualization and instrument practice. They say that when visualize practicing pieces that you know actually movements uccur in your fingers in relation to the music. Furthermore musicians attest to play better once using visualization to practice their pieces. Is visualization not the same process by which dreams occur (And in a way reality)?
It was a dark and stormy night ..........

re-wire your brain to be more efficient

self-hypnosis proposes that you can improve the learning of skills by conscious visualization. LD is a conscious visualization. but i think you would have to also work on it physically to aquire a foundation to use it outside of dreams.
