      Fake dreams

I have these often after losing lucidity. I would be in a stage somewhere between waking and dreaming, and had just realized I was lucid. (I have become much better at keeping control now, but back in the day, I would just start waking up at this point). Anyway, when I become almost completely awake, I try to imagine my surroundings of the dream I just had. I then try to interact with it, but am forced to accept that it is not a dream, but rather just mental images I am thinking of and controlling.

I find this very frustrating, so is there any way to get back into the actual dream instead of a futile attempt at interacting with fake, imagined dreams?

in the tutorial it suggested spinning dreams... im not entirely sure how effective this is because the few times i tryed to spin i was affraid i'd wake up and did.

im wondering if there's a way to stop this also, since the ussual habit of becoming lucid is followed by wanting to escape and wake up so you can control things.
