Thread: Really Bothering Me

I had this dream last night, and I need help with it. For some background information, I'm in my first year of college. I'm currently in a community college, and there are no dorms. Mike is one of my closest friends I met this year. We spend a lot of time together in and out of school. Also, there seemed to be two of me. One who was acting in the dream, and one who was just watching everything.

I was in what looked like a college dorm room with my friend Mike, and it was late at night. We were sitting on a small couch, and we had a movie on, but neither of us were paying attention to it. Mike was asleep and leaning into me, and I was just running my hand through his hair. Everything seemed peaceful. All of the sudden I hear someone slamming themsleves against the door, and yelling to let him in. Mike woke up, and ran to the door. I don't recognize the boy who was standing on the other side of the door in real life, nor did I know him in the dream before he showed up. I knew that he was not a student at the college, so I was confused about why he would even think to go into the freshman housing complex. I don't remember too many details about him other than he looked like he was about 19 or 20, he had chin length brown hair, and his eyes were green. I also think he was a bit too thin to be healthy looking. Though I remember his entire outfit for some reason. He was wearing a light purple button down shirt, black dress pants, a black tie, and black and dark purple Etnies sneakers. I remember thinking that his shoes seemed out of place with the rest of what he was wearing.

Mike tried to keep him from getting into the room, but the boy got past him. He didn't seem hurt, but he was frantic about something. He kept telling us that we had to help him get back to his daughter, Ali, that he didn't want her to forget him. I asked him why he was afraid his daughter would forget him, but he just got even more upset and started to hyper ventilate. We were able to get him to calm down somehow. After he calmed down a little, he told us that his name was Nathaniel, but wanted us to call him Nate. Then he asked us again if we would help him find Ali. We agreed.

For some reason, we weren't allowed to leave campus late at night, but somehow we didn`t get caught when we got into Mike's car. No one even tried to stop us as Mike drove off the campus. I think it was something Mike and I did a lot, because neither of us seemed nervous. We kept asking Nate about Ali. I think we were trying to figure out if she had been with him at all recently or if there was anywhere special she liked to go. Nate seemed very confused, though. Mikes's car broke down in front of a hotel. Mike said that all of us have been up all night, and needed rest. So he wanted to rent out a room for an hour or two to rest up, and we'd get his car fixed and try to find Ali again later in the afternoon. We all agreed that that would be the best thing to do, since Nate said Ali wasn't in any danger.

When we were in the staircase in the hotel going up to our room, Nate collapsed. Mike and I ran to him, and noticed that a hole opened up in his stomach like he'd been stabbed. I know that he tried to get up again a few times, and almost was able to at least once, but was to weak to be able to support himslf. There were other people in the staircase, and Mike and I tried to get them to stop to help us, but they all walked by. They didn't seem to notice us (one guy just stepped over Nate after he fell for the last time,) or any of the blood. Nate started to mumble something, and I had to kneel down to hear him. At first I heard "I'm sorry," and "Not enough time. Too soon." The last thing I made out was "go out back." he lost consciousness after that. Mike and I both seemed like we were fighting back tears at that point.

I told Mike what he told us to do. We left him because we knew there was nothing we could do for him, and went out back. It was a cemetary. There was only one gravestone that wasn't impossible to read. The first name was Nathaniel, but his last name was worn down too much to read. The last thing I can remember about the dream was the dates on the gravestone were November 27, 1991-June 3, 2010.

I'm trying to figure out if the dates have any meaning, but I wasn't even born yet on November 27, and nothing really important was going on for me June 3. So I can't really make a connection with those in my life. =/
