Thread: Help interpret my recuring dream ( goes back 10-11 years )

As long as I can remember I've been having this same dream ( i have others of course) but this one seems to come back over and over. I'm at my old house ( from when I was about 8, I'm 21 now) and a couple houses down my little brother (about 6 in the dream) it getting beat up by a group of kids and then all of the sudden people start running from everywhere over to where he is. When I try to run I physically can't, I try and try and try but nothing happens I just go slower and slower the more I try. I've never been able to get to him but every time I get to a different spot before waking up.

I just found this website but I've been having this dream since I was at least 10-11 years old.

No, nothing like this ever happened in real life and if its of any assistance I also have a sister but in this dream its only my brother.

There are some clear symbols that stand out in this repetitive dream of yours. First, you mention you were at your old house - the symbolic expression of your psyche. If the house was in good condition, then your psyche would be in the same condition, and visa versa. Because your brother was having a problem further from the house, it leads me to believe you were concerned about some situation or experience he was having, probably also psychologically. To ge a clearer picture, one would have to know what went on with your brother around that time. The paralysis you experienced in the dream indicates that as much as you wanted to help him, you could not (was the situation such that you were not in the position to help?) The fact the dream is recurring, tells me that you still feel this inability to help due to circumstances, and may or may not be connected to your brother. Does he experience effects of that time now? You see, a person would need more background on this to give a better interpretation. At the end of the day, and in the absence of further information, I would say these dreams recur because you have not yet found a way to deal with a certain situation - such situations probably 'paralyze' you, or cause you not to act in a decisive way.
