Thread: Exploring Animus in Lucid Dream

In the conference room of Neurologist Dr. Garewal's office. Looking outside the wall of floor-ceiling windows on the ground floor. The ocean shore looks at first like a gravel bank with shallow river water. But as I observed, 3ft waves of black water began to break on the shore, raising the waterline at the embankment so that the area becomes a sloshing basin of inky black water.

Walking out onto the concrete balcony/pier overseeing the choppy black water, I went over the onto the outside of the industrial metal guard-fence so that I'm stepping along the very edge. I vaguely recall one or two people also following in suit. Though when I reach the area in front of a tunnel, they are not still with me.

The tunnel is an open-air walk way with military style bunk-beds placed on either sides on the hall, each spaced evenly apart every twenty-five feet. Being as there are no walls, as it's an open air-tunnel walkway, I can see the deep blue ocean stretching out behind each of the twin-bunks that I observe while passing by. The first is occupied by two boys in army-regulation sand color t-shirt and ACU pants. They look 22-23 years old.

I become recognizably lucid.
I'm thinking in words :
'They're me in a dream, so I am controlling them'.

One boy is standing by the bed, one is laying on his stomach in the top bunk, both with their body turned slightly toward each other. They briefly acknowledge my presence, being courteous but non-expressive. I continue walking.

I go further past other twin bunks which are not occupied at the moment. The next two guys I notice are on a left side twin-bunk. They're slightly older (25-27), wearing dress pants and long-sleeve button down shirts. One is sitting on the bottom bed reading a textbook. He acknowledges my presence and continues reading. The other is either obscured by the ruffled comforter on the top bunk or not there at this time. I can't tell from this line of sight.
Though I am lucid and think to my self in the words: 'These guys are a little more complicated to control consciously'.

As you seem to know about the animus, my feedback is more like: Why is your animus represented as a millitary dream character? Or more than one, to be precise.

I guess the "complicated" part follows because you don't actually know what it's like to be a guy in the army. The dream maybe gave you some sense of that, though. Maybe if you meet any of them again, ask them to tell you something about themselves, or to take you to a place that might be of interest to you.

Thank you for the advice. The reason there are two animus for each bunk is that I was conscious of being lucid in the transitional state between dream-sleep and wakefulness. I am implying that there is one memory system for the deep dreaming state and a slightly separate memory processing system for the lucid dreaming state. Each of the animus represent what I imagine to be a complimentary Animus, as i transition through the 'tunnel' , envisioning them in succession of age.

I see what you're saying. That would be the case if our minds are somehow split in the way you mention. This is an interesting idea, AmyAnn, and makes sense the way you explain it.
