      Exclamation Strange Z Symbol?

I've had dreams my entire life about a symbol...it looks vaguely like a cursive Z, that's the best way I can describe it.

Every time it appears, it's in a pendant, or jewelry of some sort.

The most vivid one I remember was me, I suppose, although slightly different, in a black and blue corseted Victorian dress, and I was with who I gather was a female relative, and a man whom I presume to be a lover.
We were in a cemetery on a picnic...sitting about in a small clearing under a shade tree.
I was wearing a necklace/choker with the pendant on it...but it came loose, and it fell in the folds of my dress. I kept moving the fabric about, but kept losing it - I'd see a glint of the bronze-ish silver and grab for it and it wasn't there...but the man I was with reached his hand out and grabbed it, no problem. He handed it to me and gave me a kiss on the lips and continued what he was talking about.

This symbol has appeared in so many dreams, for so many years...but I've never been able to find it.

It looks almost alchemist in nature...I'm not sure.

BUT THE REALLY WEIRD PART IS:

(Brief background: I met a man online, and went to Canada - I'm from Ohio - to see him for a month.)

While we were laying in bed, we were talking about anything and everything, and we came to our dreams...he described a dream in which he was presumably an Egyptian metalworker, and he was creating jewelry for a pharaoh or some type of royalty.
I asked him what it looked like...and he perfectly described what I have been dreaming about for years.
My heart soared and fluttered and I thought I was going to cry with astonishment...
I've never believed in soul mates, but now...well, just maybe.

The point is, now we're BOTH on a quest for this symbol, what it means, if anyone else has seen it.

If you think you've seen it, please please please tell me about it.

This happens to me all the time. Well, not exactly this, but something similar.
I keep seeing a symbol "A" in quite a significant number of my dreams. It's a tribal symbol. It looks like the A in the following image :

I don't know if it means anything, so I just ignore it. It has become one of my dream signs. I don't even mention it in my DJ anymore, because I don't think it's important. It appears painted on buildings, on people's shirts, tattooed on people, and other places. Whenever I notice it, I just ignore it. It isn't bothering me or anything, so why should I worry.
I suggest you forget about it. It is just a reoccurring symbol, it would seem.
'The petals dance through the wind,
The crimson blood shimmers on the snow,
The shattered heart weeps of hidden sorrow.
And over a pure white sky,
      rises a black moon.'

      Hi Adaranyx

Perhaps its better to ask yourself what that symbol means to u? how do u feel about it?
In dreams u keep loosing something and then a man found that and gladly give it to u.
What could that be in real life? Try to answer this to yourself.
U have mentioned alchemy.. U can search alchemy symbols on internet, if symbol is like letter z, it can represent begginging of word, name. Tree is also a powerful symbol- masculine, like father.

This attachment is the best I can do, as it's very hard to really represent it with the means at hand.

The only way I'm able to draw it, I guess it just looks like a basic Z...
But it always looks rudimentary and it's set in a dense background on the pendant...smaller symbols, or vines, or something.

It's not just a reoccurring symbol though, it's the FOCUS of the dreams. It doesn't just appear casually.

The energy I get from it is usually one of great importance...something I'd never want to lose. Like an heirloom, or something given to me by a lover, or perhaps someone long gone. If I lose it, like in the dream I described, I panic until he hands it back to me, like I'm lost or not real without it.

Hi, as I said before I'm new here, so this is just an amateur's opinion. The feeling I got when I saw that Z was that it was very important. I don't think that is a coincidence. As anyone who has played scrabble knows, Z is a valuable letter because of its rarity. Not only that, but the way you drew it was a very elegant manner. Something like out of an 19th century book (or around that time) where they begin each chapter with an enlarged and fancy letter that is also the first letter of the first word.
My thought is that because, in popular culture, Z's are considered more valuable because of its rarity (scrabble) and because that fancy lettering tends to give off a feeling of importance to not just you or your husband, but to anyone who looks at it, that the Z quite simply is as you suggested: it represents all that is dear to you. I mean, I know you stated that, and maybe you are looking for something more, but I believe that is really just it. Anything, a beloved object, a beloved person, can be represented in your dreams as that Z. Perhaps the important thing, then, is not so much the Z, but its context, because its context will define what the Z is supposed to represent in your dream, and thus tell you what important thing or person you are afraid of losing.

I quite like your interpretation...it makes sense.
      Thank you.

      Hi Adaranyx,

The Encyclopedia of Symbols has an interpretation:
"The letter Z is one of the signs for the highest god in Greek mythology, Zeus. In modern physics Z represents the greatest energy, nuclear power, in its potential form, nuclear charge."

The most obvious answer is that it is a symbol from a past life. Google and read about "soul-group," and this may explain the gentleman you have met, as well.
