Thread: Dog, Bomb, and Swimming Pool

I had this dream at least a year ago and I will never forget it. So I decided I'd see if someone could interpret it, because I really can't figure it out, even if it may not be relevent anymore. It's just... it breaks my heart so much.
So I staying at a really modern lakehouse, so even though there was a lake it had a swimming pool. Hah. And my pet dog, Rex, (who my family had to put down at the age of two, and before this dream occurred, because he was sick) was swimming in the pool.
I noticed he was starting to have a hard time swimming and he started sinking to the bottom of the pool. I yelled to my dad and ran and started helping me pull him out, then my dad said, "Wait, it's a bomb."
I started seeing Rex as another dog (you know how things change in your dream without you really noticing), a very scary and ugly dog with red eyes. The dog was a bomb. We had to push him back into the water. But as he went under he shifted back into Rex.
And Rex was trying to swim his way back to the surface but we had to shove him under and drown him before the bomb went off. We got him under and I ran into the house crying. My dad followed me and men started coming out from the trees- I knew they were the ones who had rigged my dog as bomb.
But I don't remember what, or even if anything, happened after that. I'm pretty sure I woke up.
But it so hard to realize that htis dog that I loved so much was a danger to me and to have to kill him... It haunted me for several nights afterward.

Does anybody have a clue as to what the dream oculd have been indicating?
It wasn't a setting I knew at all, I was just there with my family and our two pet dogs. Usually before sometihng bad happens in a dream I can tell it will and mentally prepare, but this time I couldn't telll It just came out of the blue.
