      Bleeding wounds on face

I need your help interpretating my dream!

I was at the front yard at my grandma's neighborhood. I saw some foreign ppl holding big pretzel's with sesame. I asked them where did they bought them from. And they pointed 3 places in the area, one of them was about 20metres far.
I went there on the end of the waiting line of people. I saw i guy i knew and we had a small conversation. He was standing right behind me in the line and as we were talking. I suppose i didn't make eye contact...

And when my turn came, he went infront of me to order, while talking.
Then i looked at him, he had bleeding wounds on the left side of his face, down to his chest. He said that his girlfriend beated him. Because he did something wrong.
I didn't say anything else... i just thought that in my opinion what he did was wrong in some way, but how could someone do such thing...!?

The feeling i had after waking up... i thought about how he may be having relationship or love problems too...
IRL i had feelings for this guy a while ago but he didnt felt the same. Also he doesnt have a gf IRL.
I have some ideas what the dream might mean, but i'm not quite sure, i have no idea what the pretzel's symbolize, also the waiting line and the fact that he took my turn... but i have a slight idea what the wounds symbolize. So i would be glad to discuss it with someone.
      What is your interpretation?

      Hello Hephua,

I'm not really sure about the pretzel symbolism, but here are a few possibilities. The most distinctive thing about the pretzel is its shape. Does the shape remind you of anything? I looked up the history of pretzels and why they were shaped the way they are. There is debate about this but it is generally thought that a german monk made pretzels to give to children who learned their prayers. The Pretzel was thought to look like children's arms folded in prayer. So perhaps it has some religious significance for you? Alternatively, and this one comes off the top of my head, the pretzel is "tied in a knot" so it could be a play on that kind of figure of speach. If you "tie yourself in a knot" it means to get yourself emotionally worked up over something. "Tying the knot" can also refer to getting married - in some cultures anyway. Well those are just a few thoughts. Let me know what you think.

In general, food (eg the pretzel) tends to represent emotional nourishment and/or nurturing in dreams and in your dream, you are lining up for the pretzel. You are waiting patiently for your turn, to get a pretzel. This might be symbolising you waiting patiently for your turn to get some nurturing for yourself or something? When you woke up from the dream, you did think about the possibility of getting together with the man so perhaps this rings true in some way?

Your dreamself might have chosen the guy in your dream because he might represent the unreturned feelings you had for him (you mentioned having love troubles so I am thinking that this is what it is about). You were talking to this guy, but not making eye contact. So representing not making a connection, and not allowing a connection to be made perhaps. Then he jumps in front of you out of turn. (Could be that you feel you've waited long enough for whatever it is, and for some reason, you still haven't gotten whatever it is you are waiting for. You see people getting in before you.)

That this guy got beaten up by his girlfriend is probably representing something about you more than him. Ie, he did something wrong, but didn't deserve that treatment. Is there something like that in your own life? Perhaps you can see some fault within yourself, but the effects this fault has had on your life seem over the top?

The left side that was bleeding, the left side of the brain is associated with logical thought while the right side is associated with creativity, so it could have something to do with this. Alternatively, the heart is in the left side (mostly) and the blood was going all the way down to his chest, where his heart was. The face represents your presentation to the ouside world. This has perhaps been damaged somehow. So perhaps your confidence has taken a blow lately and this has hurt you emotionally or something?

Well not sure if this made any sense in your situation, but I suppose the key could be waiting your turn. Maybe you need to be a little more forward, a little more assertive and direct when it comes to expressing your needs and wants? Perhaps a more proactive approach is in order.

First, thank you for the reply!
About the pretzels.. our national pretzels are round and big - like these http://www.24chasa.bg/Images/Cache/Image_363052_6.jpg
I think in this dream my lining up for the pretzel might represent my need for love. I see some foreign ppl having it, and i want it too. Its like to see others having relationship and i need one for myself.
Yes, this guy represents the unreturned feelings i had for him. Thats the theme of the dream as i felt it. And yes, i've been waiting long and i didnt get what i wanted, at least not from him.
Actually, i think i might be the one who is represented by his "girlfriend" bcouse i offended him in some way in the past. And i'm pretty sure that this guy doesnt represent myself. Bcouse he is someone valuable to me. If he was a stranger in the dream then he might represented me. I dont think im the one who has been hurt.
Thank you anyway, you helped me!

Oh! I didn't even THINK that the pretzels could be the rou d shape variety! Hahaha. It makes so much more sense with the round pretzel. The shape is still distinctive. It is a ring shape! i really wanted to out a meaning to the pretzel that was about love - eg I stuck that "tie the knot" reference at the end. A round pretzel is ring shaped so probably represents love commitment between two people - so it is about love as ypu say. (In Australia, we don't really have pretzels - I'm sure someone makes them somewhere but I've never seen them for sale. We know pretzels as those horrible dry little salty things!)

Sounds like you've got the rest of the dream figured out. Although you said in the dream, this guy did something wrong but didn't deserve what he got and I wonder whether that is how you feel about yourself (eg you offended this guy in real life, but maybe you didn't deserve his reaction or something?).

It really seems like you have some unfinished business with him. Can you try arranging to meet up with him? Even if it doesn't work out, at least you will know you tried.

Other than that, you might need to get more proactive about finding the love of your life. Stop waiting and start looking! Lol.

Thanks so much for replying! Your feedback is very much appreciated.

Haha yeah, i know these small salty things.. actually here they sell our pretzels only in bakeries, they are called "gevrek". I wasnt sure how to translate it in english
We have a saying here "Everything is possible, only a gevrek without a hole isnt possible!" hah
So you think the round shape represents love commitment? How did you knew that?

What i meant was that he kinda did something wrong (err maybe not) but he hurt me in some way, but he didnt deserved my reaction... which was pretty harsh.
It took me some time to link things together and i think that might be the meaning of the dream. So he is he and "his girlfriend" am I...maybe I'm wrong but that's how i feel it..

How did u made that assumpiton? I'm just wondering how u figured out that there is some unfinished business... i think you might be right and i think i know what i can do... and i think i just did half of the work, before i saw ur comment here
Thank you verrrrrry much! I appreciate your help! (hug)

I really have a hankering for a gevrek now! Even though I have no idea what they taste like!

Well I just said that because the pretzel was a round shape like the shape of a ring that you wear on your finger, and that is what a ring symbolises. That's all. It might not be right but it does seem to fit in with the dream. Eg. You waiting around for love and committment perhaps?

I really love that saying though! I think that has a lot to do with the meaning of the pretzels to you. Everything is possible! It is kind of egging you on!

Oh ok. Yes you would be right about that then, it makes total sense and fits right in.

Well it wasn't so much about the dream but about the other things you said about him. Eg, you said something that offended him, he means something to you, you straight away were wondering about him when you woke up, but also people do appear in dreams because of unfinished business a lot of the time.

Thanks for the hug - and a hug back to you and good luck with everything. I'm really glad you know what to do now and have already done half the work! "Everything is possible" right? A very big message for you so keep that saying close whenever those self doubts creep in!
