Hmm, Desecrating the sacred for no better reason than boredom. And yet the one who confesses to the crime/sin is wearing the white robes of innocence. Is her crime innocent because her reason is just boredom and not malice? Can her action be excused? You don't mind and won't do anything about it, so perhaps it really is not a big deal. Maybe it is something that would be a big deal to others but you disagree? Something others would consider blasphemous, but you see that the perpetrator is an innocent without real malice.
Does the man not drink the wine because unlike you he finds the perpetrator's offense repulsive? he may not share your view of her innocence. he may be more devout than you, or just more holier than though in his attitude, a judgemental person, who sees right versus wrong, whereas you do not see the dichotomy as clearly - you see the shades of gray in this issue, the mitigating circumstances.
Cats are reputed to have nine lives and be hard to kill, and yet here is the dead cat, the freshly dead cat. It is a fresh issue, which was not an issue until recently, just came up. On the other hand the cat not having rotted yet, could also be a confirmation of your seeing the perpetrator as innocent, not rotten. Returning to cats having nine lives, hard to kill, lucky over and over again, but the luck ran out. Perhaps it was just ill luck and boredom.
The setting is a church. I think this dream is about moral values, right and wrong, sinfulness or innocence. The characters may not be who they appear, and I doubt the sin or perceived sin is really the desecration of communion with a dead cat, but rather it is an issue of something appearing to be very grave issue morally to someone else, but you do not see it that way, perhaps.
Is there anything going on in your life, any moral issue that this could apply to?
