Kittens and ladders new user pls help

Hi everyone hoping someone can help interpret dreams i had last night.
      First one
I was in America (I live in Australia) and I was walking along a street and saw 2 kittens, one black and one white. They didn't look very healthy. There was some people nearby so I asked them who owned them, they told me they were living at the fire station. So I went to the fire station and spoke to a man there and said I was worried about the kittens they didn't look healthy could I take them and nurse them back to health and rehome them. He said yes and that there was another little white kitten as well. So I took all 3 in a box then I realized how was I going to get them home, they wouldn't let me take them on the plane, back to Australia. I then tried to find homes for them in America, the dream ended with me still searching for homes and hearing their little cries from the box.
      The second dream.
My partner and I were at a friends house, but it wasn't the house she actually lives in. Two of our other friends were there as well (in real life the first friend lives above our other friends in a unit block). There was a wooden ladder that we had to climb up and then down the other side to get into her house. The ladder wasnt joined together but there was one either side of the door. Then as I was climbing out of the house the outside ladder came off and I couldn't get it back in place. There were some hooks that hold the ladder on, on one side it fit in ok but on the other side the hooks were to small.

Then I woke up. These dreams were both on the same night.
      Thanks in advance.

Curiously, I too have a lot of kitten dreams lately.

The search for something that still goes on when the dream ends reminds me of a dream I recently had in which I was a kind of Sherlock Holmes like chap, and I was looking for someone to hand my legacy over to, and that dream also ended before the search did.

Perhaps we are both at a point in our lives where we are on a quest for something, and what that something is may not be what our dreams portray, and the search is ongoing, but when we find the answer or solution we are searching for we will know it - or maybe the quest will continue for the rest of our lives. Finding someone to take care of something that needs taking care of, finding someone to continue our legacy when we are no longer around to do it - in your case you were going back home to Australia, and in my Sherlock Holmes dream the university department that my crime solving division was a part of was closing, but either way we would no longer be around no longer be able to take care of that important something that needs someone worthy to take care of it.

I don't have any thoughts on the ladders dream - hopefully someone else will. I hope something I said here is helpful to you, if not feel free to disregard.

Thanks JoannaB that does make sense, I did have a conversation the other day with a friend regarding wills. Could be that, or maybe my son who is autistic, worrying about him if anything ever happened to me or his dad? Again thank you for your reply

Ooooh...I wonder how elementary dear Watson, and Holmes would find your dream JB? I'd like to sink my teeth into that one...You know trying to figure out the mystery behind peoples dreams, can be very detective-like...Just a quick thought when I read your response here....

Hi Tilly....Just some quick thoughts for you to consider...

As far as the imagery of the fire station from the first dream, and the ladder from the second dream, there is a connect. Ladders are what the rescue workers use to get unreachable places from within a burning structure. Outside access at higher levels...You mention this in reference to access to your friends house.

Houses can be symbols for states of consciousness. How we think, see, feel about the world around us.

If I were to interpret it for myself, I might see the two as my attempt to come to terms with certain thoughts of mine which are shared, or fit with my friends/partner, and those which do not fit. Perhaps even seeing this attempt as a way to rescue my relationship/friendship with them.

The kittens could then come into play as the black and white, or basic nurturing needed to rescue/heal my innocent, and playful feelings/thoughts I hold in regards to whoever you associate the kittens with.

If you were going to explain to an alien from another planet, what America is....What words, thoughts would you use to make it understand. Your explanation should bring up the parallels which will help further explain what your dream is relaying to you...

Hope your ladder takes you to a higher understanding...

      Dream on...

If you want, you can read this dream in my dream journal, and feel free to leave a comment on it there: I, Sherlock Holmes, look for worth successor to pass on legacy - Dream Journals - Lucid Dreaming - Dream Views It's one of my favorite dreams recently, though I have had several cool ones which I have enjoyed.

If you want another possibility, Tilly1, here it is:

      DREAM 1. YOU
Maybe America partly is that you are not in your usual place, away from feeling at home in yourself, in this issue.
One unhealthy kitty of this newborn idea was positive, one was negative - so maybe you were half and half in your view.
But as soon as you decided to find a home in this other area, a new positive one came. So now the positives outweighed the negative.

And they belonged at the firehouse might mean a fire can erupt out of this ailing situation, or you might need to put one out. Anger or some destruction perhaps. But perhaps just what can take over and maybe become an emergency. or it has a sense of that.
You could not take this new thing back to your normal life. You had to find it's proper home in this other area.
So you are still searching, hearing the little cries of this issue, maybe because it is boxed up.

      CONCLUSION
Could this be about your son, how you feel he is boxed in by his autism, and finding the right place for him, his home in the world? And maybe the kittens do represent fun or playfulness, but your concern about his ability to have fun.
This dream is about trying to find a home for what you care about. And it seems that home has to be not in your usual life's way.

      ~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~+~

DREAM 2. YOU AND YOUR PARTNER
So now maybe you are thinking of this issue regarding your partner, and wanting to make it friendly in that area.
To do that, I think you had to climb and then down in some way - maybe as if it was pointless because you end up at the same level, so maybe emotionally draining. But the wooden might refer to your son's condition.
(Though it's interesting there are as many kittens as friends; and as family members too. But one was -ve in some way.)
And it seems you went up, then in a separate action you went down. Maybe the ladder is ups and downs of your son? And that makes it hard for you and your partner?

Then as you tried to make this issue friendly, on the way back to you, you could not manage it or put it back into place. Maybe it was not secure, but kind of loosely hooked on one side only, and on the other not enough.

      CONCLUSION
So maybe it's about your son's condition making it hard for you and your partner.

      ===============================
      CONCLUSIONS
So the first seems to fit the second, in trying to find a home for this thing and make friends with the idea or make it friendly to you, and in relation to your partner, possibly in the outside world, but not being able to yet.
As it's so difficult, if it is about your son.
It makes sense you would dream about your highest priority, or what you care about most.

Thank you S3th and Superman1 for your replies. Some of it I can relate to things going on now. My sons autism does make it hard for us at times. And yes there are times we will argue about something only to get nothing sorted or changed so it seems like it was all a waste of time, nothing changed. And I do wonder sometimes how/what our friends really think of our son. Thanks again :-)
