      Question Unknown Voice, Unknown Language.

      Hi all,

      I wanted to discuss an experience I had perhaps five years ago which has always made me slightly uncomfortable when I think of it. I'm hoping to gain some understanding or see if this has happened to anyone else.

      It was in the morning right before waking, probably around 7am. I don't think I'd had a dream that night/morning prior to this.

      Anyway I was asleep, and I seem to have drifted slightly more into an awakened state. I did not dream anything visual. Everything was dark as I was aware that I was resting and that my eyes were closed. The second I slipped into this changed state, it was like I suddenly became very aware of a clear, deep, throaty, male's voice.

      It was speaking a language not known to me. It sounded very similar to a witchcraft or occult-type spell/chant however it was not repetitive. It was a string of constant, fluent dialogue, without any pauses. I tuned into it mid-way, like it had been speaking for a long while. It seemed like it wasn't speaking to me, but possibly about me and around me. It felt dark, and powerful, it angered me, and felt like it was attempting to take power over me. I gained a feeling like 'ok how many times has this entity tried to do this before?'

      Once I had realised what I was experiencing I seemed to have made myself wake up (something I can never do). My eyes flew open quickly, with such clear vision and awareness (again something I can't usually do). As soon as my eyes opened the voice stopped mid-word. It was like the spell or hypnotic state had been interrupted and thus temporarily broken.

      When I think of this I can hear that voice gurgling away in the back of my mind. I've never understood it, does it mean anything? Can it be interpreted? Is it something else?

      Without seeming hysterical about the whole thing, it did feel somewhat sinister, however it also felt like it was trying to guide me. I think that is the disturbing part. I found it very strange however it has definitely had a residual effect on me, it was a prominent experience which has stayed with me.

      Anyone with any suggestions or similar experiences please let me know. I found the whole experience fascinating, however still somewhat disturbed by it for lack of understanding.

      Years ago I had some kind of a spiritual entity try to get inside my body during a dream.

      What do you believe about the dream realm?

      Thanks for responding. At this stage I don't feel I have enough knowledge about it to form a solid opinion, however am open-minded.
      All I can say is that my experience was strange and it made me uncomfortable. I'm undecided about what I believe it was.
      It was very brief, what I heard was incredibly clear and spoken with purpose, however indecipherable to me at least.
      I'm open to considering any suggestions or information and the experiences of others.

      Firewater I'd like to hear about the dream you mentioned if you have the time.

      I've had this happen, here's a DJ excerpt from about a year ago:

      "I also had a dream in which I was wandering around and an entity not directly there spoke to me. When it spoke I would see its blue form in my mind's eye (which I simply can't describe), and it also spoke in another language. It was no human language though--it was more akin to consistent gibberish. By this I mean it was a language, but not like any I've ever heard, most of the words sounded like gibberish but it was clearly a language. Somehow I knew what it was saying when it spoke to me telepathically. I never spoke back to it for some reason, I only listened. The only word I remember it saying was "moog"."

      THE NEGATIVE VOICE WITHIN
      It sounds like it might have been your negative side which you can learn from, hence trying to guide you.
      Maybe the learning was to wake up from it, perhaps if, 5 years ago, you were too unconscious instead of being in control, simlar to being under a spell, or if there was a negative thing happening 5 years ago, or with some guy - a bad spell.
      It stopped when you became clear.
      It probably reflected this voice in your head - your thought in this area - was without any pause.

      AWAKENED and LISTENING
      Taking it from the start, and the dream was about an experience, you became more awakened or aware of yourself, and there was no experience or nothing visual.
      So maybe the experience was just you thinking about the darkness in you.
      Closed eyes might mean You closed your eyes to it, or you were looking within.
      Then you heard the voice or your thoughts.

      CAN'T UNDERSTAND THIS SIDE OF YOU
      You did not understand this side of you, or what the voice represented, which seemed to have been there a long time in you.
      Maybe it was the thought of what you think of yourself, or what you think others think of you. That fear that controls us to varying degrees, like a spell.
      It made you angry, because it had power over you. So you gained the feeling of how many times it has before.

      WAKING UP
      So once you realised this, you woke up in reality. Your eyes opened as you faced your inner demon.
      So you had such clear vision and awareness (again something you can't usually do in life).
      So the voice stopped in mid-stream (and it did sound like it was a stream, or constant information being downloaded, like our inner negative thoughts can get if unchecked, and yet can be as incredibly clear and with purpose as much as positive thoughts. Or maybe the purpose was yours to awaken from it).
      And you broke your spell this dark thing had you under.
      So it sounds like you intended to wake up from it at that time 5 years ago.

      THINKING
      When you think of this you can hear that voice gurgling away in the back of your mind, sounds like it is still there with you, beyond your control.
      So, if this is right, in a sense it is something else. Some other part of you. sinister, yet that you already did learn from, by gaining control and overcoming it.
      ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
      snoop
      As yours was blue that might mean peaceful.
      And the thoughts, or aspect, it represented was some good side of you that maybe you could not understand with your logical or conscious mind, but only by synthesizing it into yourself. Hence you were only listening.
      I really like superman's interpretation, one thing I would add: I don't think this inner voice is necessarily sinister, all we know really is that your conscious mind perceives it as sinister but perhaps that is mostly due to the limitations of your conscious mind which does not understand what this voice is trying to tell it and feels threatened by this lack of understanding. Come to think of it perhaps the voice was your own subconscious, your intuition?
      You may say I'm a dreamer.
      I appreciate everyone getting back to me. I will take this all into consideration.
      Snoop - your experience sounds very similar to mine, which is surprisingly comforting. The section of dialect I remember from my dream was a mixture of sounds using vowels, D's, L's, N's, M's and G's. I suppose not that different from 'moog'. Could be from the same strange corner of the mind..?
      Superman - your interpretation has given me much to think about. You've put a slightly more positive spin onto it from what I was thinking which is comforting, making me realise I have more control than what I originally felt.
      Joanna - I'm going to consider your suggestion of it being not necessarily sinister, also comforting, haha
      Thanks so much again for your replies
