Strange dream about shopping and computer virus

      Hi there!
I have been very interested in the dream that I had last night. It was pretty bizarre, and it went like this:
I was standing in a middle of an empty parking lot at night in front of a shopping mall, behind me was a road for cars and on the left and right (behind the parking lot) were trees, bushes and street lamps. I felt good and relaxed, but then I heard a voice from my mum (even though a parking lot was empty) to buy something to eat. She spoke it normally, like everytime she wanted me to buy something in real life. Then I entered the mall, and I was feeling like something was not right. What from outside looked like mall, it turned out to be an enormous grocery store, where shelves were full of products, like flour for example (of course there were more, but i only remember the flour). Walls in this store were painted with warm colours, mostly red ,but there was also a little bit of white. A few other people were also walking inside the store (I think there were like 5 but I can't remember correctly) and they were looking at stuff and putting them into baskets, you know, like normal people do in the store.

I had a dream with shopping before, but the only thing I remember from the past dream was that the store was enormous (shopping carts were 2 times bigger then me) and it standing in a country side. I remember also buying chocolate bars. That's all. It looks like shops are a recurring thing in my dreams.

Back to today's dream, I started to walk deeper into the store. I walked between the shelves, and the more I walked, the more off I felt. I was walking like that for a minute or so, and finally I stopped in front of a cooler like those used for meat, but I have not took meat from there, but noodles. Yes, noodles in a plastic package. I don't remember what I did next, but I think I somehow teleported back into home (it looked just like my home in real life) in front of my computer, and I opened a pack of noodles. My mum wasn't there, even though I was supposed to buy it for her, not me

Now it's time for the scary part. The time I opened a package of noodles lights went off, and a package of noodles dissapeared, and then my computer turned on. It looked like it had Windows 95 (even though I have 7 on mine) and it had a blue background. Icons were taking up 1/4 of the screen. Suddenly, a folder appeared out of nowhere. I was pretty scared, but not that I was pissing in my pants or anything . I opened that folder, and I saw two files, one text file, and one that looked like .EXE. I have opened the EXE file and my screen went black. Then names of Legend of Zelda games started appearing (With colours, like these on title screens) and a frontal and back picture of a guy that looked like Adam from the bible (he was naked, but had a leaf on his penis )

Than the dream ended. Here are some personal notes of my life:
-I don't go shopping too often. Hell, i don't even remember the last time I went shopping
-I don't have computer viruses too often either
-I had a lot of doubt with religion, but a few days ago I finally decided to be an atheist
-I don't play Legend of Zelda games. I only watch speedruns.
-I like noodles but i don't eat them too often
-I red a lot of creepypastas about guys that found some kind of lost files (example: Barbie.avi, Sonic.exe)
-I spend 8 hours a day on a computer, since I have 2 month free time from school
-I have good relationship with my mum
      Now may I ask you:
WHAT THE HELL IS THIS DREAM SUPPOSED TO MEAN?!

Ok, here is one possible interpretation, but it may well be wrong, so feel free to discard it if it does not sound right to you.

You were on a quest to acquire something (could be symbolic, so for example, the item you were trying to acquire could be knowledge, ideas, a decision, or all kinds of other stuff). But anyway you were seeking, and your mother caused you to seek: either because she told you to do so, or because she inspired your quest.

Since you say that you made the decision to become an atheist a few days ago, and thus it is an important decision, that is still very fresh, my interpretation is that much of this dream is about that. Ask yourself what role did your mother play in your questioning of whether you want religion or to be an atheist? Did she somehow cause you to go on your spiritual quest?

So once you are in the store you are uneasy, one could say that while you were trying to decide what your beliefs will be, you were uneasy. You wound up buying noodles from a meat freezer. Now I don't know about you, but when I think noodles in a meat freezer, I think of worms.

This might also tie in with the final scene because there is a term "computer worm" which is like a "computer virus."

Why do you think you got worms? I don't know. Could be that you are not fully comfortable with your choice? Or it could be that you are comparing religion to worms or virus and are very comfortable with your choice. Only you can know which it is.

So you get home, open the box, and out come the worms, and transform into computer worm/virus. The game Legends of Zelda features among other things a quest for some stuff (so a quest like in the store, and if I am right symbolizing your spiritual quest for a decision on what to believe or not believe) also in Legends of Zelda there is a set of three omnipotent triangles (trinity anyone?) and in general this game has often been interpretted by people as having elements based on Christianity maybe. And then you get Adam in your computer worm.

This could mean that you are comparing religion to a virus/worm, or are comparing your final decision to being infected with a worm that portrays religion in a negative way, ... Only you can know how comfortable you are with your decision, and whether your unease and negativity at the end are related to religion (affirming your decision) or about unease with your decision about religion.

But anyway, I think especially that final scene of your dream likely is somehow related to your recent decision regarding religion.

Damn, I must say you actually may be right! Thank you very much!
When I was a Christian, I though religion was a good thing, becouse I thought it helps appreciate life and find a meaning in it. Than, after watching a lot of atheistic videos and reading a lot of books regarding religion I decided that religion does more bad than good. I would give you the details, but it's not that important.

What's important though is that my mother is a Christian and she wanted me to ask priests about my doubts regarding the Bible for example, so you can say that she send me to seek for answers. That would explain her being in my dream.

What still bugs me is the text file in the folder. Was that just a quincidence? I guess some things will still remain a mystery.

Anyway thank you JoannaB for helping me understand my dream. You truly helped.

I agree with JoannaB's interpretation, but would like to point out a couple of things. I enjoy getting into the details of a dream, because I think it is interesting but also important for the understanding of it. The details that I observed here is in regards to food. Food is something we need and is a common symbol in dreams. Your mother wants to to get some food, that is, to integrate something important. The food in the store is (mainly) flour. Flour is a very basic type of nutriment and actually a very important for the history of human civilization, it has long been a basis for our culture. From flour you make bread, which is an important symbol in Christianity. Jesus makes bread out of nothing, we eat bread as a symbol to integrate Him in ourselves. So it is fitting that your mother who is Christian sort of points out to you that you should get something to eat, that is to integrate -- and there is flour, so what to eat is bread, so in a way she (or what she represents in the dream) "wants" you to integrate the spirit of Christianity. But the problem here is that to integrate this spirit you have to make bread, and you have to make it your own. In this store, you cannot simply buy bread and eat it, you have to put in some work yourself. So that is a good symbol for spiritual development, you cannot simply ask someone to make you grow, you have to work with it yourself. But perhaps since you are not interested in that as an atheist, you just pass it by and starts to feel a little off, and then you can buy meat instead.

Meat is another very basic food, so to speak, and perhaps one could associate it more with older and pagan religions, where meat often is eaten during religious festivals and sacrificed to the gods. One could speculate that when you go past the "newer" religion Christianity and deeper into the store, there is possibility to integrate a more primitive point of view. But once again, you cannot simply take this and eat it either, but you have to cook it yourself. And once again, you are not interested in this, and take... the noodles!

What are a plastic package of noodles then? Compared to flour, bread, meat, it is a package of almost nothing. It is fast food with very little nutriment. So in this store with good food to cook and eat, you chose the modern fast food, it's quick, you don't even really have to chew it, and when you've eaten it you have gained almost no nutriment. I believe that is a significant "problem" in the dream, because it is when you open the package of nothingness, the problems begin.

Then JoannaB describes very well what happens, with associations to Zelda and Adam, and so forth, but if it was my dream, I would also ask myself what the "noodles" are in my life, and if there is not perhaps something else to eat instead.

I'm not suggesting that you should do this or that, I'm not saying that the dream says so either, these are my own associations to this dreams, and the food theme in particular.

I am thinking that the unopened text file means that there is still some information, some knowledge that you have not gotten. I am thinking it may be a suggestion to keep an open mind, so that if new knowledge or information comes your way, you might want to read it or listen to it. Of course that may be a biased interpretation because I am very open minded myself (and incidentally I am also a very strongly believing Christian, so I hope you appreciate my restraint in interpreting your dream, trying hard for an unbiased interpretation) .

Edit: Oh, and I forgot to mention your previous dream about stores, where the shopping carts were bigger than you, and you wound up buying chocolate. That could mean that you felt overwhelmed by big ideas / things bigger than you, and you felt that you needed comfort food - not something that nourishes, but something that helps you feel better.
