Please help me in interpreting my dream

Hey. I searched for a dream forum, in able to help me in interpreting my dream. I don't know iif it's common or something else.

I was in a church somewhere in Mexico. I was waiting for my pen friend, who would tie the knot. I was outside the church, sideways, quite restless. (I tried to sit, but a middle-aged lady gave a gesture that someone she knew would sit there.) I even looked down the (cemented) stairs, when I saw cars arriving. A few children went up, where I opened the (black) steel gate for them. I woke up when the people were slowly gathering around the altar, which may be the wedding ceremony was about to start.

My pen friend and I exchanged e-mails and letters for eleven years. It stopped in 2001. I'm not sure if it's about him because I rarely think about him. (If I do, it's out of curiosity, of his whereabouts in his academic career.) I tried looking for sites on dream interpretations, but I found out that matrimony have different meanings.

I'm single, adventurous. I'm currently on a bucket-list state of mind when it comes to traveling. (I like to set foot in Latin America 5-10 years from now, but it's Patagonia, in southern Chile, that I want to see first. Tierra del Fuego, in the southernmost part of Argentina, is next.)

I am actually pretty new to dream interpretation and I am not using a book or anything so I suppose this is just guessing. But anyway, this is my thoughts:

First off, I get the feeling that this dream is urging to contact your pen friend again. After all in the dream you are waiting for him, which I suppose is a sign that you (or at least your subconcious) wants him to contact you again. But that you got restless sounds like a sign that you shouldn't wait for him to contact you but rather take the initiative and contact him yourself.

I am not sure why you were dreaming of him getting married and of you attending his wedding, but I think it might simply be a sign that you are curious of what is happening in his life.

This is my uneducated guess, take it as you will.

Your interpretation was unexpected because I first thought if it was commitment issue (on my part). Gabino, the name of my pen friend, and I had a fallout. I was down and struggling back then, and I treated him like my best mate, brother and father too. The treatment may have been unfair to him, as we haven't met. I'm not sure if saying those words will make any difference, many years later. (I have moved on.)

But I'll really think about what you said. Thanks again.
